Mayas Lesson this week was for a layered Brownie Creation which we called 'Over the Top Spooky Halloween Brownies. The photo on the far right was my version which I made with Oreo Thins which didn't show up like they should have when the Brownies were cut. With Mayas version we used Double Stuff Oreos. We didn't cut them so I am waiting for Maya to send me a photo of the cut Brownies if she remembers. The photo with the marshmallows and candy corn is what Maya made.

Strawberry Cake Roll was Mayas Lesson this week. We used Seascape Berries from 'Harry's Berries'. They taste almost like the Wild Strawberries I had in France way back when.
Mia's last lesson was a Mushroom/Spinach Quiche which she took home to share with her Family. Photo of finished Quiche missing - neglected to get this one.
Mayas lesson this week was 'Soft Pretzels'. We made the Dough, weighed and portioned, shaped and boiled and baked the pretzels. Half were salted for dipping into homemade Cheese Sauce and half had Cinnamon Sugar on them.
Mayas next Baking Lesson will be Soft Pretzels. Fun to make and good to eat. We will be making a Cheese Dip to go along with them and maybe some other variations too.
Mayas lesson this week included making Yeasted Twist Doughnuts and Chocolate Doughnuts. We also finished up the Croissants from the frozen dough from a previous lesson.
Mayas lesson by request was Cupcakes today! We made one batch from 'Scratch' and one from a Doctored Cake Mix for Comparison. We also made an American Buttercream and an Italian Buttercream Frosting. And Maya added lots of sparkles.
Plum and Peach Crumble was the subject for Mayas lesson last Sunday.
Mayas last lesson was a Peach Tart. Good time of year for this. We also made Peach Ice Cream. A secret 'Instant Recipe'. No Ice Cream Freezer needed.
Next time we will be making a Challah. Great for many things including the best French Toast. One of my favorite breads.
Well, here is the menu for Maya's Peach Lesson this coming Sunday. These recipes will be a surprise for her because she asked me to choose the 'recipe'. If we have time, we will be making 3 Recipes. Peach Tart which in itself encompasses 3 recipes: Pate Brisee, Peach Pastry Cream and of course, the Sauteed Peaches, per Rebekah's suggestion. And if there is time, Peach Muffins and my secret quick Peach Ice Cream Recipe.
Mayas next baking lesson will incorporate Peaches. 'My Choice' said Maya, so what will it be? I have pretty well made up my mind but if anyone has suggestions, I will be willing to listen. Thank You!
