So excited to begin sharing the Vintage Pattern collection! We have patterns from 1947 thru the 90’s . We will be setting up rental and purchase options. These are all original, many are uncut. Until we have our website re-establishmented, you can send queries here, on PM or text . The patterns divided by year of copywrite date when that was an option and by decade when the exact year could not be found! I only have one size in most of these and those sizes are in the larger ranges but the patterns can save a huge amount of draping time by giving the exact pattern shape for each piece of a given look. We have some children’s patterns from each de ace as well.

We recut the skirt to fit her. Her choice was perfect for her ! An amazing example of the what can created from vintage.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend ! We have a small sample of our vintage collection to share. We are excited to develop this new offering for the film/TV/Entertain industry . The photos today are quick shots, all of these will be in the data base with measurements and era; that will be fully up in late October with a revamped website. In many cases we also have the patterns. Our vintage pattern inventory is over 100and those are being cataloged as well. In the ,meantime feel free to call, text or PM to talk about your vintage rental needs.

We hope everyone ‘s fall is off to a great start. New products will be up in about 10 days as well as photos of our line of vintage rentals !

Products to include aprons ( the traditional and a few new options) , stretch velvet leggings and tops, and repurposed vintage fabrics.

Our vintage rental line will span 1954- early 1970’s. We also have 10 kimono, 3 sari and a handful of vintage military options.
Terms will be standard rental for film industry.
We are building the data base with measurements, photo and fabric thru the fall. Don’t hesitate to call, message or text if this period fits your project !

Hi ! We hope everyone's summer is going great ! We will be sharing some wonderful projects we are working on, and with over this week . Once again we will be part of Artscape in Baltimore and new products are in production ahead of MD RenFest . We are also opening a vintage rental inventory.
Of course the highlight of our summer is the wedding of Eddy and Amanda

Early this morning, as I began to post an Easter greeting, the news from Sri Lanka hit my news feeds. I paused in my task to think,reflect , pray for the victims and wonder if a greeting was proper.

Choosing to continue, we at the Guard Room want wish all of the celebrants of Easter a peaceful and blessed day.

We also are keeping the people of Sri Lanka in our prayers. Sometimes, in the face of such malevolence, it is possible to despair of any positive news. Frequently, there will be discussions of “lessons” to be learned.

We have no lessons. Only a deep abiding wish that everyone cherish their loved ones, value each day and, whenever possible, take the opportunity to spend time with those we care about.

Time to think about Christmas 🎄 Here are the first items ! All are in stretch velvet. The two red T-shirts styles are smalls ( Chest = 36”) and the lovely purple velvet is a simple dress (this could be cut to a tunic) and it is a medium. We have several pairs of deep burgundy leggings in this velvet and some other colors. All posted items are for sale now. Other colors can be ordered but a deposit is needed. Orders must be by Monday and there will be a limit on how many we take. More items will be posted thru the weekend 🤶🤶🤶🤶🤶

Our first Hanukkah apron ! This is a size 10-12. All of the aprons are 100% cotton including the edging. For all of our aprons, the fabrics were pre-washed in warm water and dried in the dryer. The edgings are cut from fabric, not pre-packaged. Let us know if you are interested in any of these or would like to pre-order for Christmas/Solstice/NewYear aprons !

Two new additions ! From dark with neck straps over, the first one is an medium (roughly size ) , beige with leaves is size 12 and the amber with gold tracing is a generous 12! Text me at 410-596-5689 . I am home thru Sunday night for pick or mailing 😃

Three more models! On the tallest mannequin, a copy of a vintage full cover apron from my Grandmother. This is a generous large. Middle is a standard apron, medium and the final one is same model as the first posting, different fabric, medium. All full body aprons are $35. All of the aprons are two pockets, large enough for a phone. More in process !

Getting ready for the fall and winter holidays by looking in the basement . Found lots of wonderful holiday fabric and here is our first item ! Many more aprons on the way. Each will be different . Photos will go up as items are completed, all are for sale ! Price and size information tomorrow 😄

Proud to announce that our film, The Dark of Night, is now available on Seed&Spark. This project was a labor of love as many of our House of Cards crew donated their time to bring this to life. I hope you enjoy it!

Preserving a beautiful wedding dress , hoping it will be seen again.........and here is one way it can be . The grandmother -to-be gave us her wedding dress to be taken apart to make christening gowns for her grandchildren. This is the first one . Many family fabric heirlooms can be a part of such a special dress. Antique handkerchiefs, pieces of hand crocheted or knitted lace, veils, even Grandpa’s white linen jacket from 1915.

We can also incorporate a piece of a beloved item into a new wedding gown to carry family traditions thru new pieces !
