One of my new favorite charcuterie boards I recently made for a client. Made from a live edge walnut slab, looking forward to trying out different species of live edge slabs for these boards. Let me know what you think!
I cannot wait to dive in on this curly maple slab and make some gorgeous boards out of it!

Made from reclaimed barn wood and stained espresso. Feel free to reach out if you are interested in ordering one or keep it in mind for next holiday season!
Hey everyone, I know we haven’t been active in quite some time. Decided to take some time to focus on family and work life balance. This new year we are planning on doing more projects and being more active again! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! 🎄
I can finally post some content of these three gifts as I gave them to their recipients yesterday! Made two charcuterie boards from walnut, purple heart and curly maple, and I think they turned out absolutely stunning. I also made wine caddy from walnut, cherry and maple, and they were so much fun to make. If you are interested in getting something made feel free to send us a message, however items won’t be ready for Christmas.
Huge shoutout to Tyler over for the sweet templates! These things are the legit bees knees and I cannot wait to keep adding more styles. They are so easy to work with and are made of 3/8” acrylic to help ensure they last! Be sure to head over to his website and get yourself some templates and thank me later!
Got a delivery in from today and my son desperately wanted to be in the picture I was taking. He sat there and smiled away for me and he loved it. I couldn’t help but share how happy and cute he is. Got some more maple, a piece of leopard wood and a beautiful walnut slab!
I’ve never worked with slabs before but I am super excited to do something awesome with it very soon! So if you have any good things to know first they would be greatly appreciated!

Some more bottle openers going out to their forever homes. Love trying out new combinations of wood species!
This week I’ve really pushed myself to make sure I get out into the shop even for an hour or so each night. I felt myself losing motivation from just being tired from work and parenting to making excuses why I couldn’t get out there. Luckily I’ve got a supportive wife kicked my butt and told me to just get out there and do something.
Making some progress on a couple bottle opener orders and one wine caddy. Waiting for on a fancy new template from to get the caddy done but I am loving the combo of walnut, cherry and maple!
Although the shop hasn’t been a regular thing lately as my schedule has gotten pretty crazy having two little ones we have some exciting news! We got our first set of test apparel in and we are really loving how it came out. If you don’t have any woodworking needs right now or just want to support our small business, you can rock a Morrison & Son Woodworking shirt, tank top, hoodie or hat. We are hoping to get a decent sized order for clothing before placing our order to get more in, but hats should have a pretty quick turn around. Message us for pricing and availability, and we will be happy to get you the info needed!
Haven’t gotten in the shop in the last week or so since welcoming our new addition. However I did hear from a recent customer sharing how happy they are with the Adirondack chairs I built for them. I haven’t been doing woodworking for very long and haven’t made a large number of sales, but hearing such positive feedback really makes me happy to know I was able to make something that someone will love and use! Can’t wait to get back in the shop and crafting new things!
Some more bottle openers and a new wine caddy all finished up! From left to right in the first picture; bottle opener made from walnut and maple, wine caddy made from spalted hackberry and acacia, and lastly another bottle opener from walnut and paduk. These are very fun to make and are great gifts for birthdays, holidays, etc. If you are interested in ordering one be sure to send us a message to see what woods we have in stock!
Happy Father’s Day to all my fellow Dad’s out there!
I am so happy with how this bottle opener came out. I’m really loving trying out new wood species on these projects. Have a few more that I glued up earlier today incorporating more species as well. Who doesn’t love that walnut and paduk combo, and of course a nice chamfered edge.
Summer is right around the corner! These Adirondack chairs are very sturdy and super comfortable. Whether you’re looking to lounge around a fire or just hanging outside enjoying the weather, these chairs are a perfect fit for any occasion.
If you’re interested in kicking back and relaxing in one of our adirondack chairs be sure to send us a message for pricing and lead time!
Haven’t had a lot of shop time this week because my job job’s have kept me pretty busy. I did however take time to finally empty out the shop vac. Gotta say I’m loving my so much! My filter was completely clean, just had to dump my shop vac, shake out my prefilter and pop it back on and I was good to go! Go get yourself one of these if you haven’t yet.
One of our bottle openers in action. Love that the magnets catch the bottle cap so it doesn’t make a mess! Makes a great addition to any garage, kitchen, man cave, etc.
Finished up two more bottle openers. Tried a different style because I got some chunks of ash from my father-in-law. Left is just oak stained with Espresso and right is oak and ash. Both are finished with Minwax Polycrylic to help protect them. Can’t wait to continue to add variety to these when I start using more wood species!
