Stories from the dojo: Mindfullness is being fully present in the moment. Aware of what you’re doing, how you’re feeling and where you are. Much like zen! So we make mindfulness training part of our daily martial arts class curriculum. Journaling is also a helpful way to make this daily practice a habit for lifelong benefits!

Stories from the dojo: today’s class story was “Instictive Action” from Zen in the Martial Arts by Joe Hyams. “In order to achieve victory you must place yourself in your opponents skin. If you don’t understand yourself, you will lose 100% of the time. If you understand yourself, you will win 50% of the time. If you understand yourself and your opponent, you will win 100% of the time” - Tsutomu Oshima
