👧🧒 Pick up backpacks with basic school supplies for grades K-8 (while supplies last). Eligible for Salina and Saline County students who qualify for free/reduced lunches or receive SNAP/TANF benefits.

🩺 Free Health Services:

Beginning today, families of school-aged children (ages 7-17) who attend a Kansas school participating in the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program and meet the requirements for free or reduced-price lunch during the school year OR received food assistance, TANF or foster care benefits at any point during the school year may receive an automatic, one-time $120 Summer EBT payment.

Summer EBT, also known as Sun Bucks in other states, was created to help eligible families offset some of the costs of buying food for their school-aged children over summer break.

Summer EBT benefits begin rolling out today and payments will be added to a family’s existing Kansas EBT Card by July 31 (if you do not have an EBT card, one will be sent to you with the funds already loaded).

Families who believe their child(ren) qualify for this benefit and do not receive the automatic payment for every eligible child by the end of July can apply for Summer EBT beginning Aug. 12, 2024.

Because this is a new program for DCF, preparing the system for implementation has required some extra time. We anticipate the timing of benefits will be earlier in subsequent years.
