Sansarc360
Hi! Welcome to Sansarc 360. This is my historical site to study land that was my uncle bobs!
Hey guys ! It’s been a while ! Teaching and life has been chaos. And I am so sick of snow ! Update. Sansarc360 is now an official business. I have my tax information. I have my Etsy shop, bonanza and eBay. I have thoughts of Amazon. I have done alot of custom work lately. I love that. As of yesterday my work was being sold at CrazyB in Onida. I am thankful for the opportunity. Here is a few of the things I have right now. I am a teacher and I do this in my spare time. It kills the thoughts and in reality I have a talent that I had no idea existed. Many more dreams to come ! Thanks for letting me show u how I have grown on this journey through South Dakota. There is a reason for all things !
Traditional sage. It was here before and after the settlers have come and gone it is still here
Memphis (the kid that bought the nova ) sent me tons of pics as they have already started working on it. They cleaned it out got it running ! I am so excited. ! I enjoy seeing all these thjngs brought back to life. Uncle bob would
Love it.
Missing this today ! Can’t wait to finish selling stuff off so we can really explore. And of course for it to freeze and be snake free !
Good time today ! We had the best sale ever. We sold the nova to these high school kids. They worked hard and knew all the tools they needed ! Uncle bob would be proud to see this thing roll out to these kids. They were so excited. Mom is in town as well !!
Aunt Fran came out today to clear out a few more things. We found some of her stuff from her country school days. I had no idea she used to make stuff with leather. So many things I learn about her and family out there every time I sort through stuff. We found mail from 1943. It’s crazy to see the cards and the handwriting. So many treasures to sort through.
In my treasures I have found this atlas of Stanley county. This was done in the 70s. But this shows the original plots of the Olesen land. All are gone now. But the land remains. It’s so neat that we can see these things. Many of the names on there Are family names that I will have generations down at Stanley county high school.
Drought in Stanley and Haakon county worsens. Pray for rain.
Surely this cannot be the place
The sky takes up it all
No Trees
Nothing as far as the eye can see
Just the blistering wind
The feeling of being alone
This is what was promised
And for better or for worse where will toil
To make it worth your while
Everyday we work to
Dig the ground and produce a crop
Piece by Piece we will claim this spot
Prove up they say
Build to improve
For this we don't want to lose
We have come so far
There is nothing left back there
We hammer and nail
We build in the mud
Use what we can
Even though most says its uncivilized
But here we stand today
On that land that they toiled
This place stood the test of tune
Nothing left but the long ago time
The land has proved up
Profitable they say
Left to others to now work the claim
Hands of time and blood runs down
The wind still blows
The seeds line up and pop up in rows
Much easier than ever before
But the legacy remains
For the next generation
To take and remember the pride
They came from so far say
So I can stand here and say
Thank you for this place
Thank you for the footsteps left behind
Someday when u get the website up and going these will be for sale as well. All reclaimed wood and tin from the farm. I am becoming an artist.
Treasures made from salvaged stuff from the farm. So many more things to sort through. I have too any hobbies !
Winding down !
We spent this Sunday afternoon going through a lot of aunt Fran’s stuff. The garage is still full of so much and I want to get a full understanding of it all. We have some big news tomorrow. Here is a peek at an old spelling book. Spelling bees were a big deal in the day. Look at this date !!!
Lots of action today. We are getting all
The farm equipment gone. Just the tractor left and a few trailers. Then we can dig thru piles and glass and wood to get to the good stuff.
I finally have a prairie dog solution. This fall we are going to get some hunters out there. I was in shock just in the last few weeks the difference that the prairie dogs had done to the land. They had been well on the other side of the fence but now there are hills even on the other side of that barn and headed up the hill. They are tearing up so much land. I have learned a lot and analyzed so much over the last few months. I am excited to see the difference that may happen in a few years.
SD historical society visit !
On Sansarc360 there are two of these signs. They were erected by local historians. The Cherry creek trail was used across South Dakota. These trails were mainly used to take the children to boarding schools in Pierre. Much of this is 40 miles from Cheyenne river to Pierre. Uncle Bob had said that for a long time you could still see the wagon ruts. Today from the use of modern farm machinery there is nothing to see anymore.
When you are being watched. There were some fawns checking us out all day.
The Nissan rolled away yesterday ! Kudos to the guys that came far to get it and it started.!
Another shed to clear.
Sansarc360 update
Finds from Sansarc360 yesterday. We found some of uncle bobs toys as a kid. These guns are priceless. As most of you know my Aunt taught country school. These registers are from schools where she taught. They were left before her time. But some were actually have uncle bob and his family on there. The dates are amazing.
Busy day at the farm. We got all the heavy stuff out of the trailer and we are almost ready to burn. I am posting pics of the dry dry ground. The hay ground has been cut but it was not much. Hot day ! Pray for rain
I am headed to field school tomorrow in Sturgis put on by the SDSU extension. I am excited to learn some stuff that will hopefully help a newbie like me! Stay tuned for details.

West River Field School [MC-02611] SDSU Extension will host the West River Field School Wednesday, June 29 at the SDSU West River Research Farm near Sturgis, South Dakota.
While we can say we have had rain, I think in Stanley county it is still extremely dry. When we get rain in Onida I am excited to go out west and see if there was rain. Sadly it seems for them most part my little bit on Sansarc has remained dry, You can see the picture of the cracks in the land. They are everywhere. While we have turned around some we sure could use a lot more. The hay ground looks Ok. That is about all I can say, Its not amazing. Pray for rain for Sansarc.
