It was a great day in the Flint Hills! Attended the opening reception for the Symphony in the Flint Hills Art Auction in Cottonwood Falls. My new print, Prairie Memory, is one of the pieces in the auction.

Heading north in October always includes a stop at Howell’s Pumpkin Patch and Greenhouse near Cu***ng, Iowa, just southwest of Des Moines. Pumpkins, kid activities, cider, dried flowers, hay rides to the pumpkin patch and a holiday gift shop all help to get you in the holiday spirit.

It’s been a while since my last major showing, but life is looking up! I will have 40 prints hanging in the Gallery at Larksfield Place through June and July. Larksfield is still limiting visitors but you can make an appointment to view the work through Carlene Williams at: [email protected].

Had a great week away from the craziness and added some autumn photos to my files. We love our fall get-aways!

MARK 100 REGIONAL is an all-media exhibition that features artists from a six-state region. With over 500 entries, I was honored to have two of my prints accepted into this acclaimed juried exhibition. The show runs from Jan. 3 through April 18. More information can be found at www.MarkArtsKS.com.

You hear people say that the Flint Hills are just boring grass. The prairie is actually a gorgeous piece of diverse ecosystem!

Took the scenic route home from Colorado. Camped at Scott Lake State Park and made it to Monument Rocks. Need to do the western portion of the Western Vistas Byway next time we head to Colorado!

Preparing to hang my Final Friday Showing at Gallery XII. The show is titled, "Impressions of the Heartland". It is designed to be an experience of words and images celebrating the landscape of Kansas and the Midwest. I will have 40 original prints and thought-provoking words to accompany each print. I will also have my Flint Hills book and original notecards available.
