From books to screens, Kathy Downes helped Wichita State students find information for 43 years Aug. 28, 2023 - Kathy Downes, dean of University Libraries since 2017, came to Wichita State in 1979 as a biomedical librarian. She will retire this fall semester. Downes played a central role as Ablah Library expanded and the digital services of University Libraries grew in number and importance.

Good News! Our 21st and Oliver branch has re-opened its lobby!

Our friends at Kansas Aviation Museum are hosting Movies at the Museum this summer starting tonight with Jumanji at 6:30pm. Tickets are only $2.

We will be closed on May 27th and 29th for Memorial Day.

We wanted to inform you that the 21st and Oliver branch will be closed until Monday May 22nd due to some necessary maintenance. Unfortunately, this means that we will not be open on Saturday as well. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage you to visit our other branches during this time. Thank you for your understanding and please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Due to scheduled maintenance online, mobile, telephone, and branch banking will be unavailable from Wednesday May 17th at 8AM until Wednesday May 17th at 1PM.
You will still be able to use your debit card for purchases and cash withdrawals during this planned outage.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Unfortunately, our branch located at 1845 Fairmount St. Wichita, KS 67260 will be closing its lobby beginning May 25th. However, our drive-thru will remain open during this time for your convenience.
After June 30th, this branch will be permanently closed.
We encourage you to utilize our RSC and 21st locations for any transactional business needs that can not be done in the drive-thru.
