There IS actually a large area in Kansas where you can explore the woods!

Check out the Chautauqua Hills and Cross Timbers region, a 50 mile long by 10 mile wide zone in Kansas comprised of hardwoods mixed with prairie grasses in an environment of sandstone capped hill systems! Experience waterfalls, wildlife, stone bluffs, thick stands of oak trees, and towering hills!

I've heard a lot of people say they don't like Kansas because there are no forests to explore. Well allow me to introduce you to the Northern Cross Timbers, also known to Kansans as the Chautauqua Hills! The area is approximately 50 miles long by 10 miles wide and multiple state parks and trail systems reside within this region. I'm in the final stages of production for a film highlighting Chautauqua Hills so if you'd like to learn more, stay tuned for that, and follow Abt Films on YouTube!
