Ugh… 😟 She said this particular person has trolled her for a while, and her cancer fight is well-known among her viewers.
Why are some so mean?
Kind of like a person who messaged me this week.
Be kind. It won’t hurt you.
Another great view!
So pretty!

Ok, let’s not dwell on that one guy. Can I share with you the best part of my weekend?
Y-O-U!
I met so many of you at my church’s craft fair. It’s grown a ton in the six years I’ve organized it. I cannot wait to see what 2024’s event will look like. Maybe I will have the time to make 200 pounds of cinnamon rolls? I really think I could.
This is a moment I will not forget.
Susan and I met. Instant connection. We shed some tears and a big hug. She said she loves KAKE News because our team lights up her life.
What a compliment!!
We truly do try. I like to wave at the end of every show. It’s nothing special, but to me, it’s a nod to my parents, my brother-in-law’s dad (he always tells me he’s waving at me when I’m on TV) and of course you all too.
I’ve learned that you can try to be the perfect newscaster, but it doesn’t exist. Just do you. Be you. And people will embrace that. I’m not perfect. I am just me. I feel like who you see is definitely who you get.
I am blessed to have my job. To work near my family. To have success. To celebrate waking up — with you — every day. I know it’s not forever, but it’s what’s here in this moment… and I will cherish it, always.
Thank you for sticking with me in those highs and lows. You have been my best cheerleader, KAKELAND. 💕
🥁 Drumroll please… 🥁
We put Clark Griswold to work… but these lights aren’t twinkling. How cute is the KAKE News studio? So festive.
It’s nice to be back with you to start the work week!
❤️
Nancy Shoemaker would have celebrated her 43rd birthday today.
In the summer of 1990, 9-year-old Nancy began walking to a store in south Wichita to get a soda for her sick little brother. Her body was found seven months later near Belle Plaine.
So nice to be in church today. We are so thankful for this week. We brought in our vacuum to do a final sweep of the kitchen and entry way. All clean! All clear!
While we had a busy time this past week, with the Holiday Shopping Craft Fair I organized, we have an even busier one is ahead. I am:
💛 Moderating a human trafficking chat with ICT S.O.S. (so important for Missing in Kansas.
💙 Repping at our Heartland EMMY executive board meeting. Inspiring good journalism! 👏
❤️ Serving up breakfast with the Kansas Children's Service League’s Red Stocking Breakfast on Saturday. Want to join me? It’s a delicious breakfast. There are raffle prizes. Kids can enjoy a meal and take pictures with Santa. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Kids 10 and under eat free. Https://www.kcsl.org/events/red-stocking-breakfasts/
💜 Celebrating at a holiday party Saturday.
💚 Collecting toys for KAKE News’ Toy Mountain on Sunday. Have your documents shredded for free at the Bull Attorneys, P. A., donate toys and the first 100 people get a free copy of A Home for KAKEMAN. See you there?
🧡 Our son is also starting his basketball practices this week.
Jam-packed… but I don’t think we would have it any other way. We are fortunate to be able to do all that we can and support others too. 💕
Always thinking of you, sweet boy. An inspiration for Missing in Kansas. His memory is in my heart, among so many others. 💛
Today we're remembering Lucas Hernandez on what would have been his 11th birthday.
The Wichita boy was just 5 years old when he died in 2018. His remains were found under a bridge in Harvey County months after he was reported missing. https://bit.ly/3q8lqAQ
Such a cute puppy! Wrightsmind Media captures so much beauty. Very sweet.
Meet the sweetest four-legged friend who always knows how to brighten a day. With eyes full of love and a heart full of warmth, this furry pal reminds us to take a moment, breathe, and enjoy the simple comforts of home. 🐾❤️
Made coffee and English muffin sandwiches for breakfast. What’s on your plate?
Happy Sunday!
So pretty!! ❄️
WOW! This beautiful photo of frost was taken in between Hillsboro and Hutchinson this morning. Be careful and watch for slick spots.

Nearly 20,000 steps in a day. I am worn out, but it’s all worth it.
Goodnight, dear friends. I am grateful to have you!
The room may be empty, but our hearts are full. What an honor to see you all — all 600+ of you — at today’s craft fair. This event grows every year, and I’m so proud to organize it and help you support local. See you again next December?
I promise I’ll get better at mastering the cinnamon rolls. I figured 150 trays would suffice… silly me! 🙃
(And I promise to have a redemption event so you all can get those coveted rolls. I have a lot of extra supplies to make them — minus flour. I’m all out of that.)
These are my Cinna-Ministries. 🤗❤️
We sold out of cinnamon rolls — more than 150 trays — around 11 a.m.
We’ve had to replenish our tacos multiple times today too.
You blow me away, Wichita!
These are the final cinnamon rolls today, but I will post about a round two — guaranteed orders — so you aren’t disappointed.
Thank you all for being so patient with me. Beyond blessed! 💕
Such a foggy start to the day in northeast Wichita! Very dense. I’ve been up early for the Holiday Shopping Craft Fair at Risen Savior Lutheran Church.
I’m 100 pounds into baking and out of flour. Send help!! 🤣
Meteorologist Brittany Foster
I just want to remind you how lovely you are! Happy Friday, friends.
I have a busy next couple of days ahead, but I didn’t want to steer away from priorities. On my day off work, I’m pumping while delivering Meals on Wheels America for Senior Services, Inc. of Wichita. Then, I’m off to prep for Risen Savior Lutheran Church’s 6th Holiday Shopping Craft Fair. I organize the event every year, and it’s your chance to buy my cinnamon rolls and support Small Business Saturday — Round 2 for Wichita!
The KAKE News GOAT! 🐐 💕🤗
Here's a shot of KAKE News legend Larry Hatteberg during his first year at KAKE 60 years ago. It was 1963 and he was 18 years old.
I'm so sorry to hear this, but I trust people will make some magic with one of my favorite Christmas displays in Kansas. Winfield Isle of Lights is one you don't want to miss.
SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY ROUND TWO!
I'm so proud to support local business, and as you go about this weekend, I hope you get a moment to visit the Holiday Shopping Craft Fair -- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 2, at Risen Savior Lutheran Church in northeast Wichita. Event info here: https://fb.me/e/95mL9nroM
This is why I've been off work this week. I'm prepping things as we prep for the 6th annual sale. It's a crazy few days for me, but to see the way it support these crafters, I think that's remarkable!
We've had some love from amazing people, including this prior review by Wichita By E.B. He was kind enough to visit us before. Maybe I need to save him a tray of cinnamon rolls to get him to visit again -- for fun! https://bit.ly/3EIk5UW
** WANT MY CINNAMON ROLLS? **
This is your chance! They are up for grabs at the Holiday Shopping Craft Fair in northeast Wichita. I organize the event, which runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday Risen Savior Lutheran Church, 6770 E 34th St N, Wichita, KS. We are in our 6th year, and each year it gets a little better.
You can meet dozens of vendors, eat up food from the kitchen (my sisters are cooking along with me), support kids raising money for summer church camp and more.
You can help me out by letting me know if you're going to be there to order. I plan to make around 100 pans of rolls, but sometimes it's best to know what kind of pans people want the most.
Again, it's for my planning purposes. https://form.jotform.com/233324252492149
I may create another fundraiser for the church camp kids because I know people really love these.
We were at my parents’ house this weekend and one of the kids got sick on me. (Everyone’s fine.)
I had to dig out some old clothes from high school to wear. I was truly stunned these black slacks fit. They’re 20 years old. I like the fit so much I wore them at work this week.
