Today, Senator Jerry Moran hosted a tour at the National Center for Aviation Training with distinguished guests, including Kelly Ortberg, CEO, and Steven Mollenkopf, Chairman of The Boeing Company, along with Pat Shanahan, CEO of Spirit AeroSystems. Many joined them, including Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, WSU President Dr. Rick Muma, Executive Director of WSU NIAR Dr. John Tomblin, and WSU Tech President Dr. Sheree Utash. The tour highlighted the labs and campus, showcasing the region’s robust ecosystem for workforce development and the strong partnerships between business & industry, government, and education in south-central Kansas.

We are thrilled to announce the availability of full-ride scholarships for our Para Educator program starting this fall! This program will equip students with skills needed to pursue a career in elementary education including specialized dyslexia-focused training in collaboration with the Phillips Fundamental Learning Center.

The Kansas Promise Scholarship will cover a total of 68 credit hours or $20,000 for eligible programs including Para Educator, making this an incredible opportunity for those ready to start their career in education this fall.

A huge congratulations to Dr. Sheree Utash, the 3rd inductee for the 2024 Kansas Aviation Hall of Fame! Under her leadership, WSU Tech has become the largest technical college in Kansas, and we're proud of her contributions to not only higher education but also aviation and the city of Wichita! Well deserved! 🙌

Our 3rd inductee for the 2024 Kansas Aviation Hall of Fame is Dr. Sheree Utash. Dr. Utash served as the President of Wichita Area Technical College beginning in 2015, and oversaw the successful transition of WATC to WSU Tech. During her tenure, Dr. Utash has overseen the tremendous growth at WSU Tech, becoming the largest technical college in Kansas.

Dr. Utash is a constant innovator in education and developing workforce skills necessary for a changing industry. She has collaborated and led with the creation of the Future Ready Center that provides high school students with unique opportunities and training that enables students to leave high school with industry certifications.

Additionally, Dr. Utash continues to be a national leader in the conversation of aviation/aerospace education and work trends. Inspiring WSU Tech to continue to innovate to be a national leader.

Aviation Degree and Certificate Programs
Choose from a variety of Aviation degree and certificate programs to begin your path towards becoming a skilled professional in an aviation-related field. Train at our state-of-the-art campus, the National Center for Aviation Training (NCAT), to receive quality experience and skills that will prepare you for your career in Aerostructures, Avionics, Composites or even as an FAA approved Aviation Maintenance Technician.

Transferable General Education Courses
WSU Tech offers transferable general education courses that are guaranteed by the Kansas Board of Regents to transfer to public colleges and universities in Kansas. General Education courses are available for students who would like to begin their college education with a more personal and affordable option to private schools and state universities.

High School Students can take free Technical courses or reduced general education courses through JumpStart.

WSU Tech is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (ncahlc.org) and governed by the Kansas Board of Regents. Credits earned at WSU Tech can easily transfer to other two- and four- year colleges like Butler Community College, Wichita State University, Friends University and many others.
