From the Ground Up: Air Capital Build Takes Flight
Can you believe it? We are at the finish line with our Air Capital Build! 🛬 This incredible drone footage captures the amazing teamwork that went into building not one, not two, but THREE homes for THREE deserving families! Over the course of 10 weeks (April 2-June 8, 2024), we saw volunteers from across Wichita come together - from our incredible aviation and aerospace industries to folks from all walks of life. We believe that affordable homeownership is the foundation for a stable future. It allows families to focus on their work, their children's education, and building a brighter tomorrow. ✨ Huge thanks to our partners who have sponsored this year's Air Capital Build: Textron Aviation, Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., Leading Technology Composites, Bombardier, AMETEK, Inc., Meritrust Credit Union, Airbus, NWI Aerostructures, OneSource Technology, Inc. and many others! A special shoutout to the talented students at Wichita State University! The stunning drone footage was captured by students enrolled in Drone Videography taught by Jessica Newman in Elliott School of Communication. We appreciate them coming out and using their skills at our builds! Learn more about our Air Capital Build at wichitahabitat.org/aircapitalbuild.

As we shared, our skid steer trailer was stolen from our property earlier this week. This hurts not just our business, but the mission to provide safe, affordable housing in our community. However, in the midst of this setback, we want to shoutout and thank League 42! Despite facing their own recent theft of the Jackie Robinson statue, they generously shared video footage from their security cameras that might help identify the suspect in our case. This act of kindness and support, even during their own time of hardship, reminds us that we're stronger together. We urge everyone to: - Stay vigilant: Report any suspicious activity to the police. - Share this post: Help us spread the word and increase the chances of recovering our stolen equipment. - Stand united: Let's show criminals that our community won't tolerate these acts and will work together to stop them. Thank you again to League 42 for this footage. If you have any information about the stolen trailer, please contact the police immediately.

Trailer Stolen! Help Us Bring It Home
‼️ Wichita, we need your help! Sometime between Sunday afternoon and this morning, our skid steer trailer was stolen from our property. While we don't have the video of the actual theft and are working to get footage of this, we do have some clues! 1. Our Ring camera captured footage of a truck and man on our property before the camera went dark. We will post some photos shortly, but here is footage of this happening. 2. We've notified the police and will be updated of this situation. If you recognize the man or the truck in the video, or have any information about the theft, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly or contact the police.

Happy #ThrowbackThursday! We still smell all those delicious cookies and snacks baked for our dedicated supporters of Wichita Habitat. We hope you enjoyed the goodies!

2023 Outstanding Community Partner - Rhoden Roofing, LLC
We are celebrating Rhoden Roofing LLC as our 2023 Outstanding Community Partner, who was recognized at our appreciation dinner last week. John Rhoden and his team have been exceptional supporters of Wichita Habitat for Humanity, providing roof installations for many of our homes at no cost and giving countless volunteer hours to the organization. Their dedication goes beyond construction: they actively participate in the GAF program (which helps us secure discounted and donated materials), sponsored our RiverFest 2023 Build, partnered on social media campaigns, and continuously collaborate with our construction department to expand the GAF opportunity. We are incredibly grateful for their unwavering support and dedication to building strength, stability, and hope in our community.
