Arrow and Thread

I had the absolute pleasure of working on this special project and I am so grateful for the opportunity. This mother of the bride came to me with her wedding gown and asked me to create something special for her daughter to wear while getting ready on her wedding day. This is something I have done many times but it doesn’t make it any easier to tackle that next gown! There is always a certain amount of stress knowing you get one cut, one shot at making the garment perfect! 😅

This brides robe, made 100% from her mother’s wedding dress, turned out to be one of my favorite pieces ever. There is so much emotion in this gift and I love being a part of the process. Thank you for trusting me! 🥹

Circling back to share some of the looks from the Congolese wedding! Michelle and her husband looked so great in their outfits! This was such a fun project!!

I have been blessed many times through the years in that I have these God moments where I have met incredible women who have become lifelong friends, mentors, mother figures, etc. I have met them all through my career as a seamstress and they have all impacted me greatly. I recently had another beautiful soul come into my life. A colorful and vibrant spirit who I immediately knew I would connect with.

Michelle and her husband were referred to me for some alteration work for an upcoming wedding. They brought me 6 yards of floral fabric along with their wedding attire and gave me one of the most fun challenges I have ever had when it comes to sewing! They explained that they are attending a Congolese wedding and the bride and groom sent 6 yards of the same fabric to every guest attending the wedding and each guest MUST incorporate the fabric into their look. Well yes, yes and yeeessss!

They gave me complete creative freedom and it was a blast! We went from a simple black gown and black suit to these amazing looks! I cannot wait to see pictures of this wedding. Thank you Michelle for trusting me with this project! You are so lovely and I am certain that we were meant to cross paths!

Floral cardigan in ivory $44

I’m so grateful for all of the people who have reached out for alterations! My schedule is filling up quickly! I will be posting before and after pics of some of the items I’m working on. I have some fun projects in the queue!! 🪡

I just finished two pairs of dress pants. The customer requested that the side slits be closed and 3 inches taken off of the length. Done and done!! ✔️

This was a fun challenge! I turned a tshirt into an awesome headcover! So glad you like it Robin!! 🧡

Last week was challenging to say the least! As I sat on my studio floor packing up my belongings I replayed so many memorable moments in my head. All of the little feet that walked into that space and left behind more inspiration and passion than was there before. Thank you to all who came in and created with me!
Some of you know how hard it was to make the decision to close the studio and the reason behind it. What I have realized over the years of building my business, is that I don’t have to explain myself to others because most will only understand from their own level of perception. So make the choices that are best for you and your family and never doubt your worth or the beauty of your worth! What I have to remind myself is that what matters is not where I am going or what I have accomplished, what matters are the people who cheered me on and helped me get to where I am. ❤️ Thank you!!
Here’s to the end of this chapter! To all of the late nights, early mornings and experiences shared. Here’s to growth. Here’s to loss. Here’s to honoring, letting go and transcending. Here’s to learning. Here’s to expanding. Here’s to a life filled with friends and family who stand beside me, love me, celebrate me and always believe in me.

Arrow and Thread is not closing! I will continue to sew and teach, it will just be from home for the time being. I will let you know when I am opening my home studio to private lessons. I am also excited to announce that I will now be offering alterations!! I have had the pleasure of working alongside Doreen Frey who has been the areas go-to seamstress for alterations for decades. She is wanting to lessen her workload and will now be referring her clients to me! She is an inspiration and I’m lucky to have her as a mentor!🪡🧵🪡

Have you ever been so blessed by people in your life and there are just no words to express your gratitude for them!? That’s how I feel about these two ladies! If your children have had the opportunity to take classes from them, you know how special they are!!
Today we had lunch and spent some quality time together outside of the studio. I shed some tears not because I am sad about this next chapter but because I am so stinkin proud of these girls! I don’t know how I would’ve made the last year and a half such a success without them! Thank you Morgan Waldman and Eliza Welshans for all of the fun, laughter and love you brought the the studio. Until we teach again…….❤️🫶
