Rodgers Family housefire & Rebuild

An unexpected tragedy has struck members of the Rodgers family. Their home in Willis, Texas caught fire on 08/04/2020 early in the morning while they slept.

They were so excited to embark on a new life when they moved into this home in the first part of July this year. The house was a handy man special and was currently under construction to make the needed repairs so they could get homeowners insurance on it, currently, there is not any insurance on the home. This event was broadcast on Local 2 Houston News as well as Montgomery County Reporters webs

I don't usually post things on social media about my feelings or even very many things about my personal life, but I do feel led to share this.
2020 started off rough, for everyone with Covid. But I felt blessed and was able to pull out most of my retirement to purchase a "Fixer Upper" for my daughter Aimee and her 3 kids.. She just graduated with her Masters degree in Accounting with a promising job starting in January with a CPA firm. The goal was to fix it up enough to make it possible for her to get a loan on it in one year so she could buy it back from me and I could put the money back in my retirement. I thought this was a great idea, since the market was not doing well anyway and I was already loosing money due to the drop in Oil and Covid. She had been there for one month when tragedy struck and she lost everything she owned. We lost most of our retirement and we lost my beloved niece and Aimee's emotional support dog in that fire. As if that wasn't enough for our family, 4 weeks later my husband gets laid off from his job.
Now I do not tell you this for sympathy. Not at all, because we are so incredibly blessed and favored by God. I have no idea what the future holds or why these things have happened to our family. I have no idea why he chose to take my precious niece from us at such a young age. But what I do know is that he has a greater plan for us and we have no control over his plans. No matter how much we think we have control in this life, we really don't. What I have truly realized is two things:
First: No matter how great things are for you and how secure you think you are, either emotionally, physically, spiritually or financially, It can all be gone in the blink of an eye. Everything on this earth is meaningless to our eternal state. Be careful where you put all your energy, thoughts and actions.
Second: None of us know when our last day on earth is going to be. We get so caught up in this world and think we have so much Time, but truly, today could be your last day. If it is, Are you ready? You have spent your entire life working on getting and obtaining, families, careers, homes, cars etc.... But when it is taken away, which it will be one day, will it have mattered when you are standing before God on judgement day? I implore you to ponder these thoughts and make some decisions for your life here on earth and your eternal life.
