WONDERING WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP PREVENT MOLD IN FROM GROWING IN YOUR PROPERTY?

• Keep humidity levels as low as you can—between 30% and 50%–all day long. An air conditioner or dehumidifier will help you keep the level low. Bear in mind that humidity levels change over the course of a day with changes in the moisture in the air and the air temperature, so you will need to check the humidity levels more than once a day.

• Use an air conditioner or a dehumidifier during humid months.

• Be sure your home has enough ventilation. Use exhaust fans which vent outside your home in the kitchen and bathroom. Make sure your clothes dryer vents outside your home.

• Fix any leaks in your home’s roof, walls, or plumbing so mold does not have moisture to grow.

• Consider not using carpet in rooms or areas like bathrooms or basements that may have a lot of moisture.

Just because the drip stops - doesn’t mean it’s dry 💦

Thankfully these customers called us out as soon as they noticed water staining on their ceiling as a result of their AC drip pan failing. The dripping had stopped, but the thermal imagining showed us that the insulation and beams were still wet.

This was a relatively simple and cost effective easy repair because they acted quickly. Had these customers ignored the water after it stopped dripping, they’d likely be calling us a few weeks later to check for mold - in their master bedroom no less 😬

NEW SERVICES - 🔥Fire, 💨Smoke and 🚬☠️Odor

We recently had our technicians complete the certification process for Fire, Smoke and Odor. This was a 3 day intense classroom experience followed by two exams. It’s SO important when selecting a contractor to verify they are following IICRC guidelines and processes.

Biocides are substances that can destroy living organisms. The use of a chemical or biocide that kills organisms such as mold (chlorine bleach, for example) is not recommended as a routine practice during mold cleanup.

Dead mold may still cause allergic reactions in some people, so it is not enough to simply kill the mold, it must also be removed.

Last week we got a call about a home with a water loss from a washing machine hose failure. The leak happened about 6 days prior, but the homeowner wanted to wait for the approval from insurance to proceed. All materials were still wet and every day put us at more risk for fungal growth 🦠
