New Hanover County ABC Board
Serving New Hanover County for over 89 years!
Five new spirits are now haunting New Hanover County ABC Stores! We hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween!
Through the support of our community, we were able to collect over 90 cold-weather items including heavy coats, thick sweaters, insulated vests, and blankets during last week’s coat drive!
We offer our sincerest gratitude to our customers and staff for making this all possible, as well as Cape Fear Volunteer Center for getting these items into the hands of those who need them.
This would not have been possible without a community dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others, and we are grateful to be a part of it.
Spirits may come out for Halloween, but roadways are no place for Boo’s. The NC Governor's Highway Safety Program Halloween Booze it and Lose it campaign is now underway through November 3rd.
During this time, local and state law enforcement will be conducting enhanced patrols and increased checkpoints throughout North Carolina in an effort to curb drinking and driving.
This , stay safe, make good choices, and ALWAYS secure a safe ride home when drinking.
Four new barrels are now arriving in New Hanover County!
Tequila Corazón brought Bourbon County to Jalisco with a Reposado aged in Eagle Rare barrels for 11 months and an Añejo aged in Blanton's Barrels for 20 months.
Alongside them, the Jack Daniel's Barrel Proof and Green River Bourbon Single Barrels clock in at 135.1 proof and 123.8 proof respectively.
Reminder: : TOMORROW is the last day to bring items in for our coat drive benefitting WNC! We’d like to lend our sincerest gratitude to Cape Fear Volunteer Center for keeping us in the loop on donation priorities and helping us get these donations out into communities affected by the storm.
Just last week, NHC ABC Staff came together to send out over 40 cases of food and water to support our neighbors out West. If you’d like to help us maximize our impact, consider bringing a cold-weather item to one of these NHC ABC Stores: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EoJaGYLcK/

As we reflect on World Mental Health Day, we encourage our community to seek healthy ways to cope with trauma and loss.
The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene has left many North Carolinians facing the overwhelming weight of grief and hardship. Now, more than ever, we must support one another by offering our time, compassion, and resources to find healthier paths to healing.

As a community that experienced the profound impacts of Hurricane Florence just over six years ago, we know all too well the long road ahead for recovery and healing for friends and family in Western NC. New Hanover County is committed to providing assistance and will continue to do so.
Here is how you can get involved if you’re interested in helping those affected across the state.
For those looking to support the relief efforts, it’s important to ensure your contributions go to legitimate organizations. You can find a county-specific list of resources for cleanup, shelters, and more on the NC DPS Hurricane Helene page: https://loom.ly/e9Mxo4k
Currently, monetary donations are the most effective way to support recovery. If you're interested in contributing, please donate through the official Hurricane Helene Donation Page, established in partnership with the state: https://loom.ly/t5qAZ6k
We are proud to provide grant funding to local organizations walking side by side with those on their recovery journey, but we believe that offering support to loved ones struggling with addiction is just as valuable.

If you encounter standing water, please refrain from trying to drive through it.
Remember the phrase "Turn around, don't drown" as a reminder to prioritize safety and avoid potentially hazardous situations.
