Let's start at the beginning of our Bottom Line - acquiring diapers! We LOVE diaper donations and purchases from our Amazon Wishlist SO MUCH, but did you know financial donations to Diaper Bank of NC are beneficial because we can buy BULK from wholesalers? The Diaper Bank of NC can provide THREE TIMES the number of diapers for the same amount as what you would pay at Target or other large retailers.

Celebrate 10 years of the Diaper Bank of NC by helping us raise $10,000! This amount would provide 950 babies with diapers for ONE MONTH. Support us here: https://ncdiaperbank.org/donate

Baby wipes are not a luxury. They are costly - especially if you buy them individually on a limited budget.

Diaper Bank of NC can make bulk purchases from wholesalers at a dramatically reduced cost. That’s why your donation on Giving Tuesday is so important to us.

Our goal for this Giving Tuesday is to raise $1,500 to provide packages of wipes to 1,875 babies.

Plan to support Diaper Bank of NC this here: https://ncdiaperbank.networkforgood.com/projects/211901-giving-tuesday-2023

The DBNC family wishes everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Wipes and diapers go together like peanut butter and jelly. You can’t have one without the other.

Our goal for this is to raise $1,500 to provide over 155,000 wipes to our families.

While this goal seems lofty, it still won't meet our demand. We distributed over 170,000 wipes in October - but MANY were left without because we did not have enough to go around.

So, mark your calendar now. We would love your support NEXT TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28TH!

We are sending out a BIG word of thanks to Landfall Foundation for contributing to DBNC through their annual grant program. The $6,000 in awarded funds will support Essentials Hub, our mobile program focused on distributing products in neighborhoods so that transportation is not a barrier to accessing basic need items. Specifically this grant will support the distribution of adult incontinence products to Brunswick, New Hanover and Pender County older adults struggling to afford these critical dignity items. Thank you Landfall Foundation for believing in the health and wellness of all people!

🎉That's a big number!! But there is still work to be done to . Diaper Bank of NC has seen a 114% increase in distribution compared to this time last year. This is on top of the 2,000% increase in distribution since the onset of COVID. 🔍 NEW PUBLICATION, led by DBNC Director of Research and Evalution, Dr. Kelley Massengale : "Families purchasing diapers in low-income census tracts are likely to pay higher prices per individual diaper than families able to access big-box stores for cheaper products. Higher prices paid to meet the basic need of diapers leave less income for other basic needs and health-related expenses."

Our Essentials Hub mobile distribution program is up and running in New Hanover County with over 102,000 diapers distributed this year! When able, we love to take along extra items like these super cute chunky puzzles for toddlers from Harbor United Methodist Church Preschool. In addition to being fun, these puzzles will support the growth and development of young children by fostering problem solving skills, hand/eye coordination, and fine motor skills. Diaper on, friends!

The Need
Most of us don’t spend a lot of time thinking about diapers. But if you are a parent without enough of them, they can become a major source of stress, guilt, and desperation.
Imagine …
* having to choose between buying diapers and putting food on the table
* needing to leave your baby in the same diaper for the entire day – or longer
* trying to clean a soiled disposable diaper so it can be reused
* listening to your baby cry for a prolonged period because you can’t change a diaper
* dealing with your baby’s severe diaper rash, urinary tract infections, and skin infections
* missing work or school because you can’t afford the full day’s supply of diapers your daycare requires

There’s good news.
When parents have reliable access to adequate diapers, the benefits to family stability, health and emotional state are significant.

The Diaper Bank of NC- Lower Cape Fear works to meet this need by providing diapers to community partners for distribution to families in need in our community. You can help by donating diapers, hosting a diaper drive, volunteering to help us wrap diapers for distribution and by spreading the word! Contact us for more information on ways that you, your business or community organization can get involved!
