Say hi to this sweet angel, Bodhi! The client wanted a sky blue background so I fiddled around with a gradient effect. The Lucy Bee has 2 openings left before Christmas in my Etsy shop. I also have commissions open for Funny/Holiday portraits. I've had a client in the past who requested that their dog be dressed up like a 🤡. Check out the listings if you're interested in a unique keepsake of your sweet furbaby. I take commissions for dogs, cats, birds, the rodent species of animals, lizards, and farm animals.
Hey guys! I added a few Halloween digital art prints to my shop if you want to check them out including this Rocky Horror Picture Show print.
The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz poster is a good reminder for those searching for guidance when they're struggling with the challenges and obstacles that life tends to throw at us. Available in my shop!
Say hello to sweet Samantha! The clients wanted a bold blue background which pairs perfectly with Samantha's golden locks.
🐝Here are some of my newest Digital Art Instant Downloads on my Etsy page. They are affordable and drawn only by me with love and care. Please support me by supporting my dream in The Lucy Bee!🐝
It's been a while since my last major post and I wanted to give an update and officially launch my Etsy Shop (link in page description):
For now, The Lucy Bee will be selling digital downloads of art, posters, and planner print-outs.
I will be adding pet portrait openings on a monthly basis: five slots a month to be completed in the order in which they are received. These will be digital purchases not printed pieces. Directions and information will be on the Etsy listing.
Shipped paper goods are in the works and will be added soon; such as waterproof stickers, bookmarks, and beyond.
I am working on more designs as we speak ranging from affirmations & mantras, pop culture references, art & architecture, nature, and more!
This has definitely been a learning process that I'm still working my way through between designing and logistics (and fibro flares) and I sincerely thank you all for your support!
This is little miss Lola! This was a color blocking piece with a golden poppy background.
This is Mr. Fjörd! This was a detailed portrait with a medium turquoise background.
This is sweet little Rody! This was a detailed portrait with a periwinkle background.
Say hello to Nico and his feline best bud, Atlas!
Say hello to Roscoe the Clown & Willow the Princess! This was a detail-oriented portrait with some funny additions to reflect their personalities.
Say hello to the precious Lucy & Jack! This was a detail-oriented portrait.
This is sweet Mr. Bistro! This was a detailed portrait.
Say hi to Raja & Solo! This was a color blocking piece that I eventually went a little more detailed on in their color.
Say hello to Little Miss Sunshine! This was a color blocking piece in a non-traditional color palette of browns and pinks. She reminds me of neopolitan ice cream🍦
Hi everyone! This is The Lucy Bee's inaugural post. I've been dreaming of starting my own small business since I graduated from Salem College in 2018 and thanks to my incredibly supportive parents that dream is now coming true. Since the onset of my Fibromyalgia, I realized that creating art in traditional ways is very taxing on my body which was a tough thing for me to come to terms with because art has always been a part of my life. All of my artwork will be digital for this reason.
So a little bit about The Lucy Bee story...I have a fondness for I Love Lucy, a show that I enjoyed many evenings watching with my Nanna. In addition to that, a few years ago a little movie called Dumplin' came out on Netflix featuring the story of a young woman inspired by Dolly Parton's wisdom and lyrics. Her Aunt Lucy, who always wore her little bee brooch, was also a huge influence in her life and gave her the confidence to just be herself in a world that isn't always kind to people who are different. This movie was a breath of fresh air for me and it's central ideas gave me the focus for this business and my future artwork: find the things that bring you joy, revel in the little moments, stand up for what you believe in, and be kind to yourself and others.
More information for commissions and types of art work will come in the next few weeks. I have a group of commissions to complete at the moment. An Etsy shop is in the works!
Thank you and welcome to The Lucy Bee!
