The department also supported events and performances hosted for the UNC Board of Governors this week!

Tech for Maria Di Rohan is underway this week!
In the weeks since Winter break, the Lighting Department has been hard at work loading in Maria Di Rohan in at the High Point Theatre!

Last but certainly not least is Garrett Deutsch!
Garrett (He/They) is from Dallas, Texas. His lighting education is focused in programming and
design. His most recent projects include Lydia, Emerging Choreographers, and The Sleeping
Beauty at Ballet Spartanburg. Next semester, Garrett is looking forward to programming for The
Rover and designing dance pieces in Winter & Spring Dance. Garrett would like to thank his
family and friends for all of their support.

Meet our next senior: Isabelle Flores!
Isabelle Flores (She/Her) is a lighting designer from Houston, Texas. Her recent UNCSA credits include: As You Like It, and Winter Dance: Vital Ground. In the spring, Isabelle will move to Orlando, Florida, to complete a semester-long internship as a Walt Disney Imagineering Show Lighting Intern. Additionally, Isabelle is a participant in the ETC Fred Foster Mentorship Program. When she graduates, Isabelle aims to pursue a career in Lighting Design for themed entertainment and architecture. She would like to thank her friends, classmates, mentors, and her family for their continued support.

Next up is Andrew Beauregard!
Andrew is from Charlotte, North Carolina with a main interest in Lighting Technology. His recent productions include As You Like it, Fall Dance: Superconductor, and Orlando Paladino. Outside of UNCSA he has spent time at The Spoleto festival in Charleston, South Carolina as a Head Electrician for the Premiere of Omar with music by Rhiannon Giddens and the Remount of Vanessa. Andrew would like to thank his Mother, Family, Peers for their support through the process.

The next senior is our Photona Production Manager and fearless leader: Justin Seithel!
Justin (He/Him) is from Orlando, Florida and is a live and themed entertainment designer, technician, and programmer. His most recent credits at UNCSA include designer for the Hilloween Haunted House and programmer for As You Like It. His most recent professional credits include working for and alongside companies such as Light & Shadow, Lightswitch, CMIav, Universal Creative, and Sesco Lighting. He would like to thank his family, his mentors in the industry, and his classmates.

Up next is Evie Nootenboom!
Evie is from Big Bear City, California. Currently, she’s a Photona Co-Production Electrician and
P.E. for Maria di Rohan. She began the semester as Shop Foreman; additional Production
Electrician credits include Piedmont Opera’s Il Trovatore, Patrons Series, and Spring Dance
2023. Through UNCSA, she’s partaken in design projects and studied various mediums of the
visual arts. This summer, she was Master Electrician for Tuacahn Center for the Arts. Evie enjoys
team-leading, problem solving and developing systems for large rigs and intricate set electrics.

Our next senior is Dominick Riches!
Dominick Zayne Riches is proud to present Photona with the class of 2024. He has focused his education in design. Credits include: Lydia, Spring Dance: The Travelogue Capsule/And The Next Stop Is, and Winter Dance: First Impulse. He is designing Maria Di Rohan in the spring. He wants to tour with a dance company as a lighting director and start a drafting firm. He’s grateful for the experiences offered at UNCSA and is eager to witness what his collaborators achieve. He would like to thank family for their support.

Meet out next senior: Ashley Spear!
Ashley (She/Her) is from Boston, MA with a main interest in lighting technology. This semester she was the Production Electrician for “Lydia” and is currently serving as the Shop Foreman. Outside of school Ashley has worked for theatre companies such as The Berkshire Theatre Group and Maine State Music Theatre. In the Spring semester Ashley will be in Baltimore working as an intern at Image Engineering.

Say hello to Trevor Kirschenheiter!
Trevor (He/Him/His) is from Poughquag, New York with a main interest in Electrics. He will be the production electrician for the Twelfth Night with past credits including The Hilloween Haunted Schoolhouse 23’, The Rivals, and The Nutcracker 22’. After graduation he plans on work in NYC as an entertainment technician for theatre and other live events.
Up next is Sage Green!
Sage (they/he) is a queergender lighting designer focusing in theatre, opera and dance. Starting their theatrical journey in dance, Green is an alum of UNCSA’s contemporary program (Susan Jaffe, Dean). Since joining the lighting department in the fall of 2020, Sage has had the pleasure of working on productions such as Endalyn Taylor’s “Shostakovich Suite” and “Enron”. Outside of school, they’ve taken internships at Jacob’s Pillow and American Ballet Theatre. Sage is most looking forward to assisting at Playmakers Reparatory Company and relocating to New York City at the end of the school year.

Meet our next senior: Stephen Smart!
Stephen (He/Him/His) is from Nashville, Tennessee and is primarily interested in lighting for theatre, opera, and dance. His recent shows include Mother Courage and Her Children, Hilloween, and The Nutcracker. Among Stephen’s upcoming projects is lighting the opera Lo frate 'nnamorato. After graduation he plans to move to New York to assist, draft, and design. Stephen thanks his parents for consistently supporting him and enabling him to do what he loves, and congratulates his colleagues on an incredible Photona!

Liz is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and her main interests lie in physical theatre and immersive experiences. Some recent credits include Mother Courage and Her Children, Fall Dance 2023: Turmoil, Romance & Debauchery in D Minor, and Il Trovatore. Liz thanks her peers for their unwavering support and for keeping it interesting through the years.

Say hello to our first senior from the class of 2024: Harrison Reid!
Harrison Reilly Reid is from Charlotte, North Carolina and is a Programmer at UNCSA. His recent shows positions were Programmer for Enron and Hilloween. He also spent some of the semester on tour as a Dimmer Tech for Koe Wetzel: The Road to Hell Paso Tour. He plans to move to Nashville in the spring to continue in the concert touring industry. He would like to thank Bandit Lites, PTP and his family for all their support of him in this incredible journey.
