Many of y'all know my mom and know what a powerhouse of love she is. Maybe she decided you were here "adopted" kid, maybe her grandkid...maybe she just made you part of her family. Despite anything, she knows you matter and she knows how important you are and she was there to prove it.
In the past few weeks, she heard a very ugly word - cancer.
In the days that followed that diagnosis, we heard even worse words - six months. That is without treatment, but the prognosis isn't awesome; regardless.
Maybe we will be lucky. I pray so goddamn hard we will be lucky. But in the meantime, I will appreciate every moment I will get to spend with the person who is my best friend. This video is one of my core memories with my mom.
