Please say hello to Andrea Valadez! She started as a library intern her Junior year of high school in 2016 and was soon hired as a library page in December of 2017. Andrea currently holds the position as a library associate, and we couldn't be happier to have her. Her favorite part of working at the library is talking to patrons and being able to answer their questions. From computer help to book recommendations, nothing makes her happier than knowing that she helped somebody. Andrea hosts some of our most important group meetings in the library with our tiniest community members with bilingual story time! What Andrea says about our community "Winters is special because everyone is so kind and willing to lend a helping hand in the community! The members of the Friends group especially are always so glad to help and engage with community members in a way that is always welcoming and friendly." When Andrea is not reading to our littlest community members or completing all of her other library tasks, she may be found at her favorite reading spot; the porch of Steady Eddy's with a hot Mayan Mocha in hand; especially during the fall when the leaves are changing color. ☕❤️📖 🍁 At the moment, she is reading "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Her favorite author is definitely James Baldwin. And a quote of his that she is fond of is "You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read."
