Your Wisconsin Dells LumberJAX are pleased to announce that Curtis Williams is serving as the team's Head Coach for their inaugural 2024 season.

Originally from Loveland, Ohio (sharing a hometown with his old best friend, UFC veteran Matt "Hammer" Hamill), Williams played his college days with the Glenville State Pioneers in NCAA Division 2 under the guidance of Head Coach Rich Rodriguez (who would go on to coach in FBS for West Virginia, Michigan, Arizona and Jacksonville State). After his college days, Williams spent two years on the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad before enjoying a strong career in and throughout the Arena Football League. In addition to his football expertise, Williams is also a US Navy veteran, most notably serving as a diver.

Now, Williams is making his return to the arena football ranks, having recently coached with such teams as the Wyoming Mustangs, Topeka Tropics, Wichita Regulators and United Firepower. Everyone who plays for "Coach Curt" knows what he expects of them; namely, a high-octane offense, "controlled chaos" defense, and to not only be gentlemen off the field, but humble beasts on the field as well. Coach Curt expects all his players to complete a certain set of criteria, stay active in community service and for every player to conduct himself around the community as he would around his mother. After all, Coach Curt is proud to have the JAX be a team of "second chance" players and NFL kickbacks; ready to provide the players' last chance to be on a team, Coach Curt expects them to control themselves in the community as they do on the field.

Williams cites three men as his heroes in arena football. First, he thanks KC Carter, longtime owner and head coach of the Indianapolis Enforcers, who he loves like a father, credits as the reason he's back in the arena football world and makes sure to credit as his hero every chance he gets. Second, Williams is grateful to Martino Theus, longtime indoor football coach, most notably as head coach of the Duke CIty Gladiators, whose transition from the CIF to the IFL he oversaw. Finally, Williams credits Chris McKeon, former head coach of the af2's Cincinnati Swarm and the original IFL's Dayton Skyhawks as his inspiration for his discipline and his offensive mind.

Even with all his football accolades, Williams' greatest honor is being a father of six children who he loves dearly. McEnzie, his youngest daughter, is his biggest inspiration for leading the JAX and building them up in the Dells and his "road dog" who is ready to help her dad lead the JAX to 50-yard gridiron greatness. In addition, Williams is the father of sons Curtis Jr., Caleb, Cade, daughter Madison, and his late oldest son Christian, who took his own life two years ago.

Williams is dedicating the JAX's season to Christian and to the late Ray Lewis III; both will be honored on the JAX's uniforms and with their jersey retirements in this inaugural season. Under Williams' direction, proceeds the JAX raise at their home games will go to the National Council for Su***de Prevention and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
