These three are just the start, as we gradually expand arts awareness. Pumpkins 🎃 are in this season, and we got the fall activities ready this weekend! Come paint some pumpkins with us. Carving is hard but hand me some paint and I can do anything!

Second, the powerful “Nuestro Mundo También” (Our World Too), our second annual Hispanic Heritage Month exhibition - a vibrant celebration of Latino and Hispanic artists from Northern Virginia and beyond. Featuring an array of works spanning diverse disciplines—from the rolling hills of Peru to the bustling streets of San Juan, our gallery transformed into a tapestry of cultural richness and artistic expression.

At the opening reception, we welcomed the community with authentic cuisine, refreshing drinks, and local Hispanic vendors displaying their handmade creations. A special ofrenda, honoring Día de los Mu***os, added a poignant touch to the exhibition.

This long-awaited event was a deeply meaningful moment for our community—and it was embraced with joy and appreciation. Thank you to all the artists who made it possible.

As Hispanic Heritage Month draws to a close, we celebrate two powerful exhibits. The first, “1201,” is a tribute to a high school classroom, featuring a solo exhibition by artist-in-residence L.A. “Zero” Mejias. This talented young Afro-Latino artist from Woodbridge, VA, fills the gallery with vibrant neo-expressionist works, infusing our community with fresh energy and sparking important conversations.

At the opening reception, L.A. shared how classroom 1201 changed his life. Guided by a teacher who believed in him, he found the courage to express himself and rise through personal challenges, becoming an inspiration for countless artists, young and old.

L.A. dedicates this collection to that transformative space, inspiring others to pursue their dreams while honoring those who empowered them along the way. Follow to see where his journey takes him next.
