Twenty-nine emergency medicine resident physicians from The Ohio State University recently joined the Worthington Division of Fire & EMS for a day of education and fun at the firehouse. 🚒 Participants spent time rotating among various lecture and hands-on stations where they learned about the world of firefighting and pre-hospital emergency care. They demonstrated how to handle a hose line and perform CPR while preparing to load a simulated patient in the back of a medic unit for transport. It was a fantastic and educational day for all! Safety City was a huge success! 🚸 #SafetyCity Our kindergarteners learned the basics of safety, from crossing streets and walking to school, to riding bikes and traveling on school buses. They also navigated real-life traffic situations on big wheels through a miniature town and met amazing community helpers like firemen, police officers, and poison control experts. Hannah Breuninger is the latest Worthington firefighter to complete the written and physical Capstone testing process. 🎉 Physical endurance tests simulate the types of work expected of firefighters in emergency incidents. 📹 Watch Hannah work free of the disentanglement station, create an opening through a simulated interior wall, and make an impressive final sprint while pulling a 175-pound training mannequin.
