The SOC Yakima will be open Wednesday July 3rd for both Caregivers an the General Public.
We will be closed July 4th and 5th.

The Tiny Home project that SOC operates comprises of two tiny homes for homeless women with small children. We need to replace some furniture and are for donations of some new or gently used furniture. The items we need are a small hide a bed, small kitchen table with two chairs and a living room chair. Please call the office at 509-225-9310 if you are able to help, Thank you.

Hello Friends, we are in need of water bottles and small hygiene items like soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, razors, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. You can bring or send donations to 221 E Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Yakima, WA 98901.

Hello Friends! We need water bottles or money to purchase water bottles. We give out water to our homeless neighbors here in Yakima and we are almost out. We see 40-60 people every day, Monday through Friday. Can you help meet this need?

Did you know that we provide water and sandwiches to our homeless neighbors Monday through Friday from 9AM to 2PM? We see over 100 different individuals every week. Would you please consider partnering with us by donating bottled water? (Message or call us if you'd like to donate but need someone to pick up the water.)

A big thankyou to the Pacific Power Foundation for choosing Sunrise Outreach to receive a $6000 grant for our weekend meal backpack program.

The White Swan Food Pantry will be closed the next 2 weeks. They will reopen on January 7th.

Due to all the snow tonight, the SOC White Swan food pantry will be closed tomorrow because our volunteers can not get there. Sorry to all who where hoping to get food tomorrow.

Our Yakima Food Bank will be open on Wed., November 23rd from 10-12 the week of Thanksgiving.

Fundraising Auctioneer Laura Michalek still relies on the endurance and discipline she possessed when at the age of 15, when she was the first female winner of the Chicago Marathon. While Ms. Michalek has hardly missed a day of running since then, it’s this intention to excel at what she loves that is most evident. “To me Auctioneering is about giving all of yourself, before and during the event, in a way that most folks wouldn’t expect.” (You can hear Ms. Michalek’s full story about her Marathon win through local NPR affiliate KNKX’s weekly Sound Effect broadcast, Episode #173.) Her style, fundraising insight, and commitment to her clients, and their mission, not only sets her apart, but has created a career beyond Ms. Michalek’s wildest dreams. “I’ve always been deeply interested in how non-profits I care about are going to sustain themselves, so it is nothing less than a thrill to know I can personally and professionally be part of that.” For 15 years prior to becoming a full time Fundraising Professional, Ms. Michalek owned and operated several nationally recognized vintage modern furniture stores in Seattle. “My critical eye, intuition, and energy level has been pretty consistent all these years, so whenever I set out to do something, it’s the same set of skills, just a slightly more developed new chapter.” As the youngest winner in the history of the Chicago Marathon, it has not been lost on Ms. Michalek that this experience informed her whole life. “When I start Auctioneering, it’s like being in the starting block all over again. I still set out to win, however, this time it’s for the organization I’m representing.”
