Nikon Z8 60 MP Mirrorless Camera Rumored, Along With D850 Successor
In the wake of so many major Canon mirrorless rumors and announcements, it’d be excusable if you had started to shift attention away from Nikon’s mirrorless program, especially since it’s been over a year since Nikon put out a full-frame mirrorless camera.
But no more.
We have a new Nikon rumor to report, one that offers a truly exciting prospect for Nikon mirrorless shooters:
A so-called Nikon Z8, which will supposedly have a whopping 60 MP sensor, along with dual card slots (one CF and one SD). Nikon Rumors reports that the camera will also feature a “vertical grip option, pro body” and a “higher price tag.”
Apparently, we should also expect a Nikon D850 replacement “maybe” in 2021, which will also have a 60 MP sensor.
This is excellent news for Nikon fans, especially those who were critical of Nikon’s decision to put a single card slot in its Z6 and Z7 bodies. Photographers who felt unable to make the switch to mirrorless due to a need for redundancy will be free to choose between the Z8 and Nikon’s professional DSLR bodies such as the Nikon D5, the Nikon D6, the Nikon D850, and the D850’s successor.
Panasonic Unveils Breakthrough Organic CMOS Technology
How this New Technology Works
Photoelectric conversion film thinning technology – The new organic thin film can absorb up to 10 times more light than traditional silicon photodiodes. This means the organic film can be made thinner and still absorb the same amount of light, which reduces color mixing from light hitting neighboring pixels at an angle.
Electrical pixel isolation technology – Helps to remove unwanted charges at the edges of pixels. This helps to suppress the signal charge from the neighboring pixels.
Light transmission suppression structure – To prevent light from passing through the photoelectric layer, the lower portion of the organic thin film has a pixel electrode and a charge-discharging electrode covering it. This helps to stop light that the organic thin film can’t absorb. Red light is especially prone to causing color mixing, but this method significantly reduces its transmission.
Panasonic’s organic CMOS sensor, whose progress is going in a slow speed, still waiting to get introduced commercially. With the technology developed this time, it is possible to achieve good color reproduction under all light sources, so if it is adopted for digital camera sensors (M4/3 / APS-C / FF), it seems that color reproduction under artificial light sources will be dramatically improved.

Real or Fake? Nikon Z6 III Image Surface Online
A new Nikon camera prototype is being circulated on the web, the body design of the camera looks similar to Nikon Z6/ Z7 Z6 II / Z7 II body. At first look, the camera seems like a Nikon Z6 Mark III prototype.
Determining the legitimacy of the images leaked by the source, without any additional information is challenging. However, websites like petapixel are still investigating this matter and the last line of the article was
For now, all of this is speculation. If Kalbo (source who leaked the images) is able to acquire the camera, he’ll be able to provide more information about it, which PetaPixel will share.

Does the Canon R50 camera have No Mechanical shutter?
Yes, the Canon R50 camera doesn’t have a fully mechanical shutter inside the camera, instead of that we have HYBRID and ELECTRONIC. Shutter
Just after the announcement of the Canon R50 camera, I am getting lots of msgs from my users about why we have only two options on the shutter menu of the camera that say
Elec. first curtain shutter
Electronic only
But, when you go the burst mode, you have two options: the first is a 12FPS mechanical, and the second is a 15fps electrical shutter.
Ideal Condition to remove Mechanical shutter from your camera
Condition 1: If the camera sensor has a GLOBAL SHUTTER without any lag, yes the camera doesn’t need any mechanical shutter.
Condition 2: When a Camera Maker is using a STACKED CMOS Sensor inside the camera as we have in Nikon Z9, Sony ALPHA A1, or Canon R3, OR EVEN a re-worked FSI (Front Side illuminated Sensor) like we have in Canon R6 Mark II and Canon R8.
Now, these are the ideal condition to remove MECHANICAL SHUTTER completely from your camera.
Canon R50 vs Canon M50 Mark II
Before we begin, let me clarify that Canon R50 is actually a successor of the Canon M50 Mark II camera. As we have told you the successor, means from now on we will have models like the Canon R50 mark II, canon R50 Mark III

According to rumors that surfaced over the web, Fuji may announce a model below Fuji X-T5 with the same 40MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS 5 HR BSI Sensor. The expected announcement date of the camera is one or before June (Asian source).
According to the latest rumors coming out from the rumor mill, the Canon R5 Mark II camera is delayed and will not arrive in 2023.
Canon EOS R6 Mark II Mirrorless Camera
Canon notes that the EOS R8 is “aimed at the up-and-coming video or photo enthusiast” and is a solid choice “[f]or users who’ve already explored interchangeable lens cameras but haven’t yet broken into mirrorless.”
Canon to Launch Two RF-Mount Cameras in Early 2023
Canon will announce two new RF-mount cameras in the first quarter of 2023, says Canon Rumors, writing that “Canon is going to make a big splash in Q1 of 2023…All signs point to 2023 being a big year for Canon’s imaging lineup.”
But what, precisely, does Canon have in store? CR claims that one of the upcoming cameras will be the EOS R50, a potential RF-mount-equipped EOS M successor.
An EOS-M-style R50 would sit below Canon’s current entry-level RF-mount model, the EOS R10. While no specs are currently confirmed, it would presumably pack an APS-C sensor along with beginner-focused specs: a compact body, modes for easy operation, a fully articulating touchscreen, and decent video capabilities designed to appeal to vloggers and content creators. The camera may not have an electronic viewfinder – Canon eschewed this technology in many of its EOS M cameras for the sake of lower costs and a reduced form factor – though we might see an optional EVF à la the Canon EOS M6 Mark II.
I’d wager that the EOS R50 will cost less than $850 (the EOS R10 is currently less than $1000 with a kit lens), making it Canon’s first real budget RF-mount model and a potential option for casual photography and vlogging.
As for Canon’s second upcoming camera: Canon Rumors notes that it “is unknown at this time” but goes on to speculate about a possible EOS R5S, a long-rumored, 80+ MP model that would appeal to landscape photographers, commercial photographers, and other serious shooters looking to produce huge prints or do extensive cropping. Another possibility is an EOS R7C, a video-centric version of the Canon EOS R7, though CR doesn’t “expect [the R7C] until later in 2023.”
Regardless, Canon users should gear up for an exciting start to the new year, especially those in need of an entry-level mirrorless model that can utilize Canon RF lenses. According to CR, we should anticipate the releases “before the CP+ show…in late February” – which means consumers shouldn’t have long to wait.
Sigma will soon announce those three new lenses.
Looking for a mirrorless camera that's both affordable and powerful enough? Canon has not one, but two models, both of which will be "announced…next week" and feature a combination of high-end technology and sub-$1,500 price tags.
The Lumix FZ2500 has three zoom features
Standard zoom, Intelligent zoom, Digital zoom
Leica M11 with classic design, 60 MP and more
Like most Leica rangefinder models, the M11 is designed for pro-level street, travel, and documentary photography; the body is compact, lightweight, highly portable, unobtrusive, and perfect for inconspicuous shooting. View the camera from the front, and you’ll instantly be impressed by the sleek Leica.
But don’t be fooled by the pared-down, travel-ready design. The M11 offers unrivaled image quality, thanks to a high-level, Triple-Resolution-packing BSI sensor, which allows the user to select from three full-frame settings: 60 MP, 36 MP, and 18 MP.
Want to capture outstanding detail for wall-sized prints or commercial work? Set the M11 to its 60 MP mode and snap away. Prefer to capture bursts of photos with manageable file sizes (e.g., when shooting moments on the street)? The 18 MP mode has you covered.
Leica promises 15 stops of dynamic range, on par with class-leading full-frame models, plus an ISO range stretching to 50000 for nighttime and other low-light shooting scenarios. And for photographers who prefer a wide-aperture look, the M11’s shutter reaches speeds of 1/16000s, so you can work at f/1.8 and beyond, even in harsh sun.
As Leica notes, the M11 features a “carefully optimized design…focused on efficiency and ergonomics.” The classic Leica layout is there, including an ISO and shutter speed dial for an outstanding tactile shooting experience, but you also get plenty of modern features: a top-of-the-line, 2.3 MP touchscreen, 64 GB of built-in storage, as well as an optional electronic viewfinder, which you can attach to the M11 for a live feed to the camera sensor.
In addition to slow motion, you already know it's happening!
Zhiyun Crane-M3 Combo
More often than not, it seems photographers become content creators, whether it’s just to document family or friends, or whether it’s something a little more intense, like filming a small video for a business for which you’re also creating photographs. It might even involve larger products where you’re doing multimedia, short films, and stills – the whole nine yards, so to speak!
Those of us who started with stills photography and then added moving pictures to our arsenal will likely have that one memory where we simply put our camera into Video mode and tried to create an epic cinematic masterpiece, only for it to turn out a shaky mess.
The Zhiyun Crane-M3 Combo comes in its own bag/mini-backpack and packs in as a perfectly compact kit with everything you need to create stable films on your phone or mirrorless camera. Included in the bundle is a compact tripod as well as an adapter to mount your phone on the M3.
The M3 is what can only be described as a compact gimbal. It’s not quite as large (or heavy!) as those I’ve used in the past, but it still manages to hold a medium-sized rig just fine, like my Sony a7R III with the highly underrated Tamron 28-75mm lens (a very versatile combination for filming!).
The Zhiyun Crane-M3 has some great features that cross over from photography to filmmaking, including slow-motion, motion-lapse, time-lapse, hyper-lapse, and panorama, as well as its SMART mode, which allows you to choose from a range of built-in templates. By using the SMART mode, you can automatically add certain camera movements, color grading, transitions, special effects, and music, depending on the template.
The gimbal also has a Portrait mode, which does exactly that: It switches the camera to record in portrait mode. Therefore, if you’re on a shoot and you want to create some content for social media, Reels, or TikTok, you don’t have to do that nasty 16:9 to 9:16 crop afterward; you just shoot how you want it! There’s also a Vortex mode, which sets the camera to point straight up. You can then have the camera spin as you film – kinda like it’s in a vortex – to create some awesome-looking footage.
As a photographer who likes to create a little video from time to time, what makes the Crane-M3 a great tool to have is that it’s compact! It can take a camera phone, an action camera like the GoPro, or even a mirrorless camera. I felt like the Sony a7R III with my 28-75mm Tamron lens was as big as I’d like to go with the Crane-M3; that said, I have no complaints about how it performed!
You spend a little time making sure to balance the three axes of the gimbal as best you can (made much easier by the included tabletop tripod), and the M3 will handle the load fine. When I set the camera up with the Sony a6300 and Tamron 20mm lens, it was a super snappy and very responsive little unit! In “Go” mode, the gimbal is quicker to respond, but I’d imagine that it gives the onboard battery a bit more of a workout.
The battery isn’t replaceable, but you can charge it on the go, so you can always attach a USB-C battery bank and stuff it in your pocket if you’re getting low on power. Zhiyun claims the Crane-M3 should last around eight hours during normal use, which is a long time to be filming, so you should be just fine!
I also tried the Zhiyun Crane-M3 with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and while it felt like I was sailing a small ship (the iPhone’s kinda wide, come on!), it worked like a champ. Paired with Filmic Pro, it’s a great little content-creating rig! I will add, though, that it took some setting up. Getting the iPhone even and stable on all axes was a task that took an extra-strong coffee, but I got there in the end.
I’ll mention that you can add a Bluetooth module (sold separately) to the Crane-M3 that allows you to control other cameras than those for which the kit includes a cable (there’s a camera-compatibility list here). I was fortunate to have two cameras on the list, so I can’t speak to the Bluetooth functionality.
You can also adjust many functions using the Zhiyun Play app. I found it super handy when setting up things like time-lapse – my thumbs and the small screen were not always friends, but the screen on the gimbal works fine, is responsive, and is bright in regular daylight.
The M3 also hosts a front-mounted LED light (let’s call it a modeling lamp). It’s not super bright, and as it’s a small source, it’s not going to be the most flattering. It is adjustable in terms of output and color temperature, and you can magnetically snap on the included filters to create a different look. However, if you’re hoping to actually light a subject, I’d maybe consider external lighting.
Overall, the flexibility of the mounting options, the ability of the Crane-M3 to take multiple cameras, and its small (but strong!) size were real wins for those looking to add a little video to their bag of tricks.
How’d he get there so fast!
The Canon RF 135mm f/1.8L Is Almost Here
Back in November, Canon announced the RF 135mm f/1.8L IS USM, a powerful lens designed for serious portrait and event photographers.
The new lens doesn’t come cheap. The price will undoubtedly be prohibitive for beginners and most intermediate shooters, but those who do fork over the cash are bound to be impressed.
For one, the RF 135mm f/1.8L IS USM promises outstanding optics. Canon’s press release notes the “exceptional image quality across the entire frame” as well as “accurate color reproduction and reduce[d] chromatic aberrations” – and while we haven’t tested the lens ourselves, Canon’s L-designated primes do tend to be breathtakingly sharp. You shouldn’t have a problem capturing pro-level portrait, event, and photojournalistic shots (assuming your technique is sound, of course!).
Then there’s the Nano USM autofocus motor, which boasts impressive AF speeds and should be perfect for fast-paced events like wedding parties and even sports; the top-notch build quality, which includes weather resistance in case you need to photograph in rain or snow; and powerful close-focusing capabilities, so you can capture detailed shots of dresses, jewelry, place-settings, and more.
But what makes the RF 135mm f/1.8L really shine is the wide maximum aperture. At f/1.8, you can maintain detailed exposures in low light while using a fast shutter speed, and you can create gorgeous background bokeh that’ll enhance nearly any portrait. If you’re a frequent indoor or nighttime event shooter, you’ll also appreciate the image stabilization, which prevents camera shake when handholding and is highly useful in low-light scenarios that feature stationary subjects.
Before you go out and grab the 135mm f/1.8L IS, however, it’s important to recognize the lens’s limitations. While the telephoto focal length is outstanding for headshots and intimate event photos, you’ll struggle to capture wider images at 135mm – so if you’re after a do-everything portrait or event photography lens, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
On the other hand, if you need a pro-level lens that offers decent reach, can handle low-light scenarios, and produces gorgeous bokeh, check out the Canon RF 135mm f/1.8L IS.
