Adventures with Jinki

An adventure couple Jessi and Inki. We are currently offering luxury yacht charters in the USVI's.

15/08/2023

Jessi's grandparents 60th wedding anniversary.

This was our last night together for two and a half months! We will be traveling separately for our season away from work.

Jessi was the instigator of said independent, solo traveling. She is now questioning it greatly... 😬

Although we both know it is for the best... To have space apart, as well as to pursue our own passions. But it doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye.

Our hearts are heavy because we know life is better with the companionship of the other.

12/08/2023

If our poses were punctuations! Post mini-golf with family, obligatory photo op. Feeling grateful to take some time off of the water!

06/08/2023

Taken on our last night in the Virgin Islands. Having a bite to eat before an early rest.

We sailed Easir II to Gorda Sound, setting ourselves in position for a midnight departure to St Martin.

03/08/2023

In the grand scale of things, we will not be away for long... But we will be miss these tropical water and all the friends we have made.

We have until October off, to roam and explore away from the threats of hurricanes. Inki and Jessi are spending almost the entire time apart... A necessary evil, to keep the relationship fresh, when we work and live on a small floating vessel.

Jessi is going to be away from the tropical waters almost the entire time.

Inki, well, not so much.

Can you guess where we, as individuals, will be going?

01/08/2023

Made it to St Martin.
Yacht is snug in her berth.
We are sleeping in a land-home. A cozy air b&b, french cheese and rosé wine. Jessi made a weird "hippie-cocktail" for herself.

Life is in motion.

30/07/2023

And that's a wrap. We are finshing our time in the Virgin Islands. Taking our home, Yacht Easir II, to St Martin to be sold.

We are so grateful. Thank you to everyone who made this season so fruitful !

A sailing team.

Amazing to see how far we've come as a capable couple on the water!

Inki has been sailing the seas since 2008, Jessi since 2016. It's only been the last few years, however, that they began managing vessels together.

From cleaning hauls to raising sails, to cooking and dishes. To screwing in those tiny screws that require two people twisted and curled - holding their breath - as they wedge themselves into the bilge to mount a new mechanical device.... Nothing about boat life is a direct path of ease, but always is it worth.

Grateful.

Oh you know, just another day at the beach. Why hello there JetBlue...

They say to not look back, only forward.

However, when life is so good to you, you can't help but reminisce on the lovely memories! This is a precious shot of our time working aboard a vintage wooden ship, Lazy Jack.

Salty sailor grinding!

Inki first took to the high seas 15+ years ago and has nearly 30,000 blue water sailing under his belt. He is quite experienced. From ocean going deliveries in the notoriously difficult seas between NZ and South Pacific Islands, to coastal racing and schooner sailing, his experience is diverse. Safety is also the highest priority with fun a close second.

The Sea of Sunset
by Emily Dickinson

"This is the land the sunset washes,
These are the banks of the Yellow Sea;
Where it rose, or whither it rushes,
These are the western mystery!

Night after night her purple traffic
Strews the landing with opal bales;
Merchantmen poise upon horizons,
Dip, and vanish with fairy sails."

A captain in his element.
What do you think he is thinking about?

"Is my anchor dragging? Did I turn on the anchor light? I hope the batteries are staying charged!"

You might find a captain off the boat with a drink in hand, gazing into the horizon as the sun dances on the water. Don't let him fool you, he is not sinking into the bliss of his surroundings, he is likely thinking about his lady - the ship - presently without crew.

“In some South Pacific cultures, a speaker holds a conch shell as a symbol of temporary position of authority. Leaders must understand who holds the conch-that is, who should be listened to and when.”
— Max De Pree

We believe, nature holds the conch. Listen carefully.

We don't wish to flood this page with food photos. However, with Jessi working as a yacht chef we are finding it a bit difficult to refrain from doing so. Thus, here is a little collage for you.

Yes, it tasted as good as it looked!

Feeling grateful for this beautiful life!

19/04/2023

Oh the views during race week at Nanny Cay. Too bad we were on business otherwise Inki would have found his way on-board one of these fine sailing specimens..

18/04/2023

Nothing like taking our guests on a hike up to The Windmill Bar from Cruz Bay! The views, food, beverages and tunes never disappoint...

Parrotfish are a group of about 95-species. They are found in coral reefs, rocky coasts, and seagrass beds and can play a significant role in bioerosion! They are named for their dentition, which is distinct from other fish. Their numerous teeth are arranged in a tightly packed mosaic on the external surface of their jaw bones, forming a parrot-like beak with which they rasp algae from coral and other rocky substrates. One of our favourite reef fish!

We have the best job!

Our guest, four ladies celebrating a 30th birthday, brought polaroid cameras, matching bikinis, and all the good vibes. We are having so much fun showing them the US Virgin Islands!

07/03/2023

With the promise of painkillers and live music, the finish line is always worth the hike up from Hawksnest Bay at The Windmill Bar with our guests!

Nothing like a bit of Peruvian ceviche, with fresh mahi mahi, to wet the appetite. Adapted recipe thanks to our dear brother in the Amazon jungle!

"Ships are the nearest things to dreams that hands have ever made, for somewhere deep in their oaken hearts the soul of a song is laid." — Robert N. Rose

26/02/2023

Cold, wet and windy days on charter means the guests leave for cover below, leaving Captain Inki to be in his element! Sometimes it's nice to have a break from the sun's searing rays...

23/02/2023

Sometime we see so much blue, we go to land to chase all shades of green!

21/02/2023

Adventures abound for us! It's the lifestyle we thrive upon. Thankfully, we had the opportunity for a bit of a reconnaissance mission before taking future clients onboard Yacht Easir II there this coming week!

The eateries on the boardwalk in Christiansted, St. Croix are idyllic, especially so during sunset. Coupled with the many art galleries selling locally crafted wares, it is always a pleasure for us to visit with our guests!

16/02/2023

So the big question is… Where in the world are we NOW?

US Virgin Islands! We are running weeklong sailing charters in the islands. Inki is the charming captain and drink slinger. Jessi is the first mate and delightful chef.

They host up to six guests aboard a beautiful 46ft catamaran. Providing an all-inclusive holiday with wholesome meals 3 times a day plus appetizers and dessert. And do not forget the endless adventures under water and over land!

You can more learn by following the boats page at Yacht Easir II.

We are so grateful to be sharing this life on the deep blue with new people in new places!
