Here I am back in Mai Chau. Another favourite place to shop is Hoa Ban Handicraft. This not-for-profit trains and employs women with disabilities. They work on site upstairs, where you will find lots of weaving looms and sewing machines.

Rainy season is in full force.... Closed until swimming to work is no longer required!

Twice a year the hemp is harvested and laboriously spun into thread. I was really lucky to be staying with Mao's family in Ta Van, near Sapa, when the spinning was on!

Finally! For years I have been buying Sapa fabrics from the wonderful Mao. And at last I am at her family home. If only I could stay longer!
