🫡🇼🇸 Big Chief announcing one of our Major sponsors for the big showdown happening on the 31st of August.
What an exhilarating milestone for Henry Silva’s Shipyard! Undocking the Atafa boat must be a moment filled with pride and excitement for everyone involved. It’s remarkable to see the culmination of months of hard work and dedication paying off.
It’s especially meaningful considering the personal history behind the shipyard’s name, honoring Silva’s father, who contributed to Samoa Shipping Corporation. With this successful completion, Henry Silva’s Shipyard not only marks its first project since its establishment but also signals its readiness to serve the maritime community.
Marie and the team must be thrilled to showcase their expertise and dedication to quality craftsmanship. Now that the shipyard is open for business, it’s an opportune time for prospective clients to reach out and experience firsthand the professionalism and skill that Henry’s Shipyard offers. Here’s to many more successful projects and a bright future ahead for Henry Silva’s Shipyard!

At BBE our motto is to be better every day!
Whether we are in the office or on the wharf, working from behind the wheel or a desk – we try our best to reflect this in everything we do.
In our line of work everyone has a part to play. Once a shipment arrives our ground staff, drivers & warehouse staff all have duties to carry out in order to get the job done.
In recent years BBE has joined the movement for a greener port – and similarly, we all have a part to play.
As port users, local businesses and consumers, we all have a responsibility to help keep Samoa clean! And keep our port green!
Being better every day is all about taking new steps.
We have taken the first step towards a greener port by implementing more sustainable practices in our line of work, but this can only be achieved if we all work together.
What steps will you take today?

So, we did a thing…
On a very hot and humid Saturday, together with our friends, ran a 60km relay run from Samusu to the home of the Samoa International Game Fishing Association (SIGFA) at Matautu.
We like running, and we try to keep fit, ‘try’ being the operative word. So, the CHASING SANTA FOR CANCER run and the concept was borne as a culmination of all our tries, at our fitness goals throughout the year.
The idea behind ‘Chasing Santa for Cancer’ was really inspired by the many brilliant ideas in our small group of running enthusiasts who wanted to use their fitness goals as a mechanism for inspiring other individuals in their fitness journey whilst supporting a cause that is dear and close to everyone’s heart.
Cancer has taken so much from so many people, and we wanted to do some good with our own aspirations for our fitness; honor the memory of our loved ones and those who have passed as well as those terminally ill and living through the pain each day and, use the opportunity to celebrate the milestones in our fitness goals for the end of the year.
We had many dreams on the outcome of the run, some not realized and some hopefully in some way we achieved. We hoped to raise awareness for cancer, on early detection, on seeking care early, on recognizing signs and symptoms and wanting and hoping in some small way we can reach people this way. Maybe, and hopefully next year, we can do better.
We managed to pull together a group of 40 runners and volunteers dividing into four running groups, who ran 3km legs at a time.
The relay run also raised $16,010 for the Samoa Cancer Society. We are grateful and very appreciative of the support from the business community, our families and friends that stood behind us in support of this very worthy cause; one of many hairbrained ideas to date. Faafetai i le Alii mo le malosi, mo lona alofa faifaipea ma lana puipuiga ma lana taitaiga ua sao ma uli ai le faamoemoe.
We especially acknowledge and thank Afioga Auapaau Logoitino Filipo and the team from the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services, making us look like superstars with provision of Police es**rt services ensuring safety of the runners on the road during the relay run.
The Chasing Santa for Cancer was proudly sponsored and supported by: Her Excellency Emily Luck and the Australian High Commission, National Bank of Samoa, PacificEzy, Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa, A & A Engineering, Ah Liki Wholesale, All Things Sweet, Atlas and Nikola Ah Liki, BluwaveSamoa Ltd, Business Systems Limited, Crossfit FatuToa, Digicel, Eveni Carruthers, Ford Samoa, Greenside Energy Solutions, Inalani’s Catering, Laeon Simpson, LSM Law, Maota o Samoa, Olivia Vaai and Tom Hogarth, OSM Investments, Pacific Aus Sports, Pala Limā Chartered Accountants, Penn & Co Chartered Accountants, Samoa Pure Water, Samoa Video Pro, Schwalger Family, Swire Shipping, Tamashii Sports, Tia, Triple L Rentals, Wells-Poasa Family.
