i guess facebook is upset that we're not going to do photography anymore🤷🏻♂️
Hi Friends....I (Seth) first started shooting video for weddings back in 1999, with a couple small local companies for 3 years-ish before quitting and starting what only a few of you may remember as Drag N' Drop Video Productions. In September 2004 Dez and I got married and she automatically became my assistant and second shooter. In 2006 we launched Zelo Photography and phased out video pretty quickly! We took off like a rocket and were shooting anywhere from 20-30 weddings per year. That's a lot of weddings and a lot of photos. We're proud to say we NEVER MISSED A SINGLE WEDDING💥
Things started slowing down shortly before the plan-demic🦠 , and honestly the break from shooting every weekend was good. But as everybody was cancelling and postponing their weddings it gave us some time to think about the future of Zelo Photography📸 and whether or not we wanted to continue on this path.
With over 400 weddings👰🏻♀️and maybe 300 engagement sessions💍, approximately 4 MILLION raw photos and who knows how many hours of raw video footage.....it is time to bid you all farewell! 👋🏻
We have had SO SO SO many amazing brides and grooms (and a couple not so amazing🤣) and have worked with a LOT of incredible vendors. We've been able to shoot several weddings in different parts of this awesome country 🇺🇸 and we have been blessed far greater than we deserve.
🙌🏻THANK YOU to all of you, for choosing us to capture your first looks, your first dances, your laughter, your tears, your hugs and kisses. You've all had a massive impact on us and we hope we've given you something very special too.
With all this being said, we hope this isn't a full-blown goodbye! 🙏🏻Please follow us on our other accounts as we continue to be creative in other ways⬇️
You can follow Dez👇🏻
as she works at getting that thumb even greener🌱
And follow Seth👇🏻
as I pursue my career in woodworking, welding, building, making, etc. I also make a pretty good YouTube video from time to time so be sure you hook me up with some subscribes and views😉
Thank you all again. Keep it Cool, Casual and Classic♥️
✌🏻
Shooting somewhere you've never been before can be stressful. We always try to scout around in advance when the time allows and fortunately we found this amazing wooded area at the last minute up in Oakland before Julia & Austin's wedding. The rain said "i'm coming for you!" but then the rain said "ahh you're killing it here...i'll hold off a couple more hours"🤣
Our couple flew in from Chicago for an awesome so-cal sunset wedding in the Hollywood Hills....the weather had other plans but that didn't stop us from having a good time!😎
Awwwww 😉
10 YEARS AGO, we had the honor of shooting Leigh ( ) & Tim's beautiful wedding at . A few months ago she reached out and asked if we'd be available to do some family photos for their 10 year anniversary back at SantaLuz Club where the big day took place. Umm, let me think for a second....yeah, sure, twist my arm! 😂
We don't do many family sessions, so we didn't want to let them down, but it was so much fun and if you swipe to the last pic you can see how they felt about it too.
We are beyond blessed to be able to do what we do, even in a year as re****ed as 2020😂
We can't wait to shoot them again for their 20 year anniversary 😍
We think "minty fresh" when we see this photo of Torie & Zach, haha, and we LOVE IT! 😍
What’s not to love about Tommy’s socks? We love this photo. We love the lines, we love the socks, the shoes, the colors, the venue, the groom....more please!
🍁IT'S FINALLY FALL!!!🍁
Let me guess...you all want family pics, right? Lucky for you Desiree and our good friend Danielle are teaming up for a batch of mini sessions!😍

Kick off your Monday with some beach time! We loved shooting with Gen + Matt and we also love this photo! You can see that Bay Area fog starting to roll in behind them, haha, but fortunately we weren't socked in just yet.
Halloween seemed like an appropriate time to post this image from Gen + Matt's recent session up in the Bay Area. The plan was to go to a nearby beach area but on our way from the first location we got socked in pretty quick! Didn't get the we originally planned on but still got tons of great photos....including this one. But there was nothing spooky about this session...it was all fun and games and good times!
What a wonderful email to start the day with! When you're not somebody who gets their photo taken every day, you might feel like you won't know what to do in front of the camera, or you may not know what to do with your hands, or how to act. Relax!! We've got you!😍 We want to make this as easy and enjoyable and memorable for you as we possibly can. That's how we've been doing it since we started Zelo Photography in 2006, and that's how we're going to keep doing it👍🏻
So very grateful to be able to shoot Liz & Tommy's wedding this past weekend at . Unfortunately it was rescheduled due to "you know what" but we were so happy they got a new date at their original venue.
Raise your hands if you think it's absolutely time to ditch the stupid masks and OPEN EVERYTHING AND GET BACK TO NORMAL?? 🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️
Also thanks to for keeping things running smoothly as she always does 👌🏻😃
Wrapped up a new session...yes...a new session...as in, photography....during the "pandemic"...whoever heard of such a thing?? LOL!!
Torie + Zach were so much fun. Lots more pics coming soon! :)
NOT IPHONOGRAPHY😂 The other night we left our trailer around 12:30am and drove over to see about getting a photo of the Milky Way on this trip because honestly we're not sure when we'll be able to afford another trip. Soooo, this is what we ended up with. We certainly don't specialize in astrophotography but we've done a little bit of it...enough to document a little bit of the amazing universe that was created by the one and only true and living God. Just LOOK AT IT. This didn't just happen. It was designed👌🏻
It was interesting to edit this image on the using mobile app. Such a basic photo but it had a lot of blues, greens and reds that i wanted to tweak. Using various color sliders within the app i was able to fine tune the amount of each color until i got it where i wanted. This is of course, very common practice in photo editing but like i said previously...just shooting and editing photos to justify this trip as a business expense 😜
The original unedited image can be seen in the second slide .

Calling all peeps!!🚵🏻 If you find yourself in you'll love the ride👌🏻 It's not a grueling ride but it's definitely challenging and rewarding! There are so many different trails you can veer off to on this ride, you can do the ride over and over and never get bored. It's one of the reasons we love coming to .
This photo was a simple photo taken on yesterday early evening ride. Black and white was a good edit for this one, no need to over edit⬛️⬜️
The original image can be seen in the second slide.
Shot on and edited with mobile and tweaking some of the built in presets.

How to do ? Be a cactus😂 Awww who am i kidding? Social distancing is a flippin' joke. What's not a joke however, is God's amazing artistry. Here's an everyday cactus just being an everyday cactus in . We can edit photos all day long to enhance them and make them look their best, but nothing beats the real thing. So take those masks off and get out of the house. Go see the beauty that God created for us to enjoy.
And if anyone cares, the first photo is edited using mobile app and one of the presets with some adjustments here and there. Original pre-edited iphone photo can be seen in the second image.👌🏻

More beauty in . The Fay Canyon hike is simple, beautiful and photo worthy! Here's one of the peaks we saw, shot through some trees (much like we shoot some of our wedding portraits). This image was edited in the mobile app, with some subtle tweaks to one of the presets and a couple other tweaks here and there. The original image can be seen in the second slide. Shot on iphone...duh😂

This image is of some of the clusters on the underside of an overhang we came across on one of our hikes in . Shot using on an and edited in the mobile app using presets. Original image can be seen in the second slide.

Next in the series from our trip to is this bush we came across on one of our hikes. They were everywhere and while the green in real life was very bold, the black and white version is quite all right too👌🏻
This image was edited with some tweaks to one of the presets in the mobile app. The original photo can be seen in the second image.

since weddings are at an all time 💩 right now, and california is at an all time 💩 right now, we took some time to get away to Sedona, AZ where life is actually moving🇺🇸. We haven't been to in a couple years (usually we'd come every year after we shoot our last wedding of the season).
Anyway, in the spirit of writing off this trip as a business trip, let's work on our and some mobile photography editing. Using the mobile app, we wanted to try some of presets.
This first image was shot up near the top of and was edited by tweaking around some of the settings in one of the presets. The second image is the original how it was shot on the .
Some of the presets are like "what the heck is that?!?" but some of them work out better than others. Anyway, stick around and we'll be posting a few more posts👌🏻

Not shooting weddings at the moment, so we're staying creative in workshop 💀

Under the pier vibes😎
So, according to macaron-day.com, today is National Macaron Day.
Who knew??🤷🏻♂️ Whether or not this is a "real" made-up holiday or not, thank GOODNESS we have a photo of some macarons in all their meringue majesty! 😆
How about some silhouette action for your Friday?🔳
Here's one of our favorites from Amy's portraits at .
So I guess if it's Friday and it's one of our favorites, we'll call it . Have a beautiful weekend everybody!😍
Nice and simple with a little texture!😍
We want you to love your photos now...5 years from now...20 years from now...50 years from now...and so on. Contact Zelo Photography if you're still looking for a wedding photographer or know somebody who is!😃📷
How many of you out there remember Drag N' Drop Video Productions?? Probably only a couple of you🙌🏻
For those of you that don't know what we're talking about, Seth started his whole self-employment career as a videographer way back when! Will Zelo Photography ever offer video? Well, we thought about it a few years ago and actually had a short run as "Zelo Cinema", but we decided we wanted to focus 100% of our attention and skill to photography📷👍🏻
