Suspended floors and under floor heating aren't the best match 🙅‍♂️, but some systems work better than others.

Some people use aluminum spreader plates with grooves for the UFH pipes, but these don't retain heat well, so the UFH has to run constantly in cold months. 🥶

The system in the pic is called a biscuit screed. We cover the pipes with 20-25mm of screed before boarding over the top. This retains heat much better, keeping your feet warm for less money. 💰

Bit of screed wizardry this week! 🧙‍♂️

The customer wanted 3 big slabs recessed into the screed, allowing the surrounding tiles to finish flush with the slabs. Time consuming but worked out well in the end.

Same day ufh and screed installation......no problem.

Before the insulation police arrive, no, the existing house doesn't have insulation, nor will it have the alternative heat source of radiators. 👮‍♂️ This will not affect heat output as hot air rises, but it does mean that the existing slab won't be as efficient.

Today's effort 55m2 under floor heated and screeded, using 4:1 quick drying traditional fibre screed.
