Lovely spring morning with blue skies .
You can’t really see much in the photos but believe it or not there was a sprinkling of snow on the hills this morning .

New windbreak / privacy screen built at the side of the hot tub

Really pleased with todays work in the Bothy .
It never had windowsills in there before so these quirky sills have been crafted locally by James @ QuirkyWoodwork based in Crawford so you can’t get more local than that !
Also added a small shelf above the sink to hold mugs and things .

How cool do they look ?

Crisp and calm at The Bothy this week . Nice and cosy with the stove lit .

Fresh cabbage , yellow and green courgettes tomatoes and potatoes all from Shirley’s kitchen garden .

So nice to be able to cook a meal for tonight’s guests with all local grown fresh veg.

Few jars of freshly made strawberry jam available from the egg box at the bottom of the drive .
Clyde Valley strawberries and jam sugar . Nothing else added .
£2.50 large jar .

Mother Nature is amazing !
In 28 days we went from an egg to this !
24 hours after hatching , running about , eating , drinking and catching bugs !

Local pub 20 minutes drive from the B and B / Bothy . Welcoming our four legged friends .

British Gold Panning Association Championships

The gold panning championships will be taking place over the weekend of the 4th and 5th June at the Museum of Lead Mining, Wanlockhead, Scotland.

This year will see the return of both the Scottish and British competitions.

New panners are always welcome, so don’t worry if you have never tried gold panning or competition panning.

Momentous day at Leadhills.
This was a test train to test the clearances at Glengonnar Halt. It is however the first train to go up the line in three years. The last passenger service was in 2019.
Three years later and we are nearly ready to welcome passengers on selected dates in 2022.
