Meet Kit Longnecker (left)
Kit is a 3L in the part-time program and serves as a Staff Editor for Denver Law Review. She is interested in Civil Rights, Constitutional Law, and Reproductive Justice. Kit has been lucky enough to travel and have some close encounters with wildlife, including walking among grizzlies, swimming with whale sharks, and almost getting stepped on by a giant tortoise. In her free time, Kit likes to cross-stitch.

Amanda is a 2L and serves as a Staff Editor for Denver Law Review. She is interested in Constitutional Law and International Law. Amanda spent this past summer in Sorrento and Naples, Italy taking classes and working for an international law firm.

Meet McKenna Milton (right)
McKenna is a 2L and a Staff Editor for Denver Law Review. She is interested in Women's Rights, Environmental Justice, and First Amendment Free Speech. McKenna is quite the ice cream enthusiast and enjoys a good game of ultimate frisbee. She was a big fan of Full House as a kid and she even got John Stamos's (Uncle Jessie) autograph after tracking him down at Disneyland in the second grade.

Misty is a 2L in the part-time program and serves as a Staff Editor for Denver Law Review. She is interested in Social Justice Law, particularly income inequality and how it relates to access to basic resources. In her free the, Misty enjoys doing her nails and putting together Lego sets - ask her about her Harry Potter collection!

Catherine is a 2L and serves as a Staff Editor for Denver Law Review. She is interested in Constitutional Rights. Catherine grew up in Oradell, NJ and she loves to hike.

Meet Casey Kiernan (right)
Casey is a 3L and serves as the Tenth Circuit Articles Editor for Denver Law Review. She is interested in Gender Rights, Feminist Legal Theory, Criminal Justice Reform, and Constitutional Law. Casey is from St. Louis, MO, and she enjoys running, cooking, photography, reading, and playing with her dog. Her favorite thing about DLR is getting to work with other talented students to help create good writing.

Monica was born in Mexico and raised in San Antonio, TX. After graduating from George Washington University in 2018, she served as a youth development Peace Corps volunteer in Peru for over a year. She enjoys weightlifting, traveling, and going on nature walks with her family.

Natalie is a current 4L and is an Associate Editor for Denver Law Review. She is interested in Environmental Law and Sustainability. Her favorite thing about DLR is the people! Natalie is a part-time student, and DLR has allowed her to connect with full-time students. She often meets wonderful people at DLR events who are willing to help her with whatever she needs.

Amanda is a 2L part-time student who serves as a Staff Editor for the Denver Law Review. She has a variety of legal interests, including Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, and Business Law. Amanda loves to hike, has two kids, and was previously published as an undergrad through Innovation Consulting Community/Verisk.

Erin is a current 2L and serves as a Staff Editor for the Denver Law Review. She is interested in a wide variety of law ranging from Constitutional and Environmental Law to Intellectual Property and Technology Law. Erin is also a Colorado native, growing up just south of Denver in Castle Rock, CO.

Meet Sydney "Grace" Speight (Middle)
Grace is a current 2L and serves as a Staff Editor for the Denver Law Review. She is interested in Criminal Procedure, primarily constitutional rights under the 4th Amendment; the relationship between the legislature and the federal courts; judicial impartiality; and the relationship between mental health/illness and our criminal justice system. She is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. Growing up in the rural South made her increasingly passionate about the role and reputation of the South. In her free time, she enjoys reading and writing about the South, especially when it comes to the role of women. Grace also enjoys cooking, snowboarding, and pilates.

Meet Eleanor Kim (Right)
Eleanor is a current 2L and serves as a Staff Editor for the Denver Law Review. She is interested in Intellectual Property Law, Sports and Entertainment Law, International Law, and Corporate Law. Eleanor trained pre-professionally in ballet for over 15 years, where she discovered rehearsals for a successful performance are much like the legal writing process. She notes that both require perseverance and immense attention to detail. Both also use narratives to communicate with the audience.

Anna is a current 2L and serves as a Staff Editor for the Denver Law Review. She is interested in becoming a transactional attorney and is originally from Budapest, Hungary. Anna has prior publications covering topics in TESOL and linguistics.

Meet Pelecanos (Middle)
Pelecanos is a current 3L and serves as the Denver Law Review's Tenth Circuit Research Editor. They are interested in Civil Rights, LGBTQ+ Rights, and the patterns and trends of the Supreme Court. They also have a love for art, both viewing and creating.

Meet Emily Sexton (Right)
Emily is a current 2L and serves as a Staff Editor for the Denver Law Review. She is interested in Corporate Law, specifically the asset management industry. In her free time, Emily performs improv comedy. Emily is also from Fairbanks, Alaska.

We Can!'s board of directors which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of diverse individuals in the legal community. In his free time, he enjoys Olympic lifting and climbing 14ers.

Carolyn is a current 2L and serves as a Staff Editor for the Denver law Review. She is interested in Constitutional Rights and Remedies as well as Environmental law. Stephanie is a current 2L and serves as a Staff Editor for the Denver Law Review. She is interested in Children's Rights, Human Rights, and Civil Rights. Stephanie used to spend her summers on Lake Michigan but learned how to sail here in Colorado on the Cherry Creek Reservoir.

Meet Michael A. Kilbourn (Middle)
Michael is a current 4L in the part-time program and serves as one of the Denver Law Review's Associate Editors. He is interested in the Criminal Legal System, Social Justice, and Activism. Hannah is a current 3L and serves as one of the Denver Law Review's Associate Editors. She is interested in Constitutional Law and Civil rights. This winter, catch Hannah on the slopes as she has been snowboarding for 17 years.

Kate is a current 3L and serves as one of the Denver Law Review's Case Note & Comment Editors. She is interested in Civil Rights, Prisoners' Rights, and Criminal procedure. Kate is from Arlington, MA, and enjoys backpacking, skiing, ultimate frisbee, and cooking.

Meet Heidi Metroz (Middle)
Heidi is a current 3L and serves as the Denver Law Review's Business & Outreach Editor. She is interested in Criminal Law, Mental Health Law, and Animal Law. Before moving to Denver, Heidi lived in Las Vegas, where she worked as a ballroom dance instructor. Her fancy footwork even graced the Bellagio stage!

Denver Law Review is partnering with the Constitutional Rights and Remedies program to co-sponsor an event on Thursday, November 10, from 4:15 pm to 5:30 pm in Room 165. The event features Professor Paul Gowder from the Northwestern School of Law, a national expert on constitutional law and race discrimination, for a talk on his recent book The Rule of Law in the United States: An Unfinished Project of Black Liberation. The event is free and open to the public!

Adam is a current 3L and the Senior Forum Editor for the Denver Law Review. He is passionate about environmental justice and civil rights law. Adam also is conversational in New Zealand Sign Language, plays guitar and sings in a band, and loves to snowboard and surf.

Rachel is also a current 3L and serves as the Denver Law Review's Equity Editor. She is passionate about land use and civil rights law. While neither in the office nor in classes, Rachel loves baking and cooking.

Dylan is a 2L Staff Editor for the Denver Law Review and is interested in criminal justice reform, education policy, and labor law. Dylan is from Hermosa Beach, California, and went to DU for undergrad. Before law school, Dylan was a teacher. In his free time, he practices ju-jitsu, bartends, and skis.

Now in her third and final year of law school, Rebecca serves as the Denver Law Review's Editor in Chief. She Is interested in both water law and environmental law. Her favorite thing about DLR is the community comprised of current members and a tapestry of alumni who make up an incredible network of mentors and advisors to the journal.

Meet Marisa Danos (Right)

Also, in her third and final year of law school, Marisa serves as the Managing Editor for the DLR. She recently has become enamored with legal writing involving anti-trust issues, specifically those in a sports law context. Marisa was also born on a leap day, meaning she is (technically) only 6 1/2 years old in leap years.

Every year the Denver Law Review welcomes a new class of students who demonstrate an evident dedication to scholarship, academic curiosity, and deep respect for the organization's lineage as the flagship journal of the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law.

However, the Journal is not simply a collection of scholarly text and immaculate citations but a group of students who are as human as they come. Join us over the coming weeks as we embark on our "Get to Know You" series, where we will feature the members of the Journal.
