🌙Mooney🌙
Mooney are a 4 piece alternative rock/jazz fusion band from Glasgow that has been playing gigs together for just over 2 years now. Our line up includes Scott our guitarist/vocalist, conner our keyboard/vocalist, Steve (aka mooney) our bass player and Paul on drums. At our gigs, we prioritise entertainment over everything else! (We are still not too bad at music either 😉) we always make sure to put on a great show not matter how big, how small, how loud or quiet the crowd is!
We are looking to get our music out to a new audience outside of Glasgow and are buzzing to play our first proper festival outside of the city!

🎸The Feraltones🎸
The Feraltones are a dynamic Heavy Blues Garage Rock duo hailing from Glasgow. This two-piece, formed of guitarist/vocalist Leo and drummer Sal, pack a punch that defies their minimalist setup. Two boys, lots of noise.
Drawing inspiration from the grit of classic blues, the spirit and energy of garage rock, and the relentless drive of heavy rock, The Feraltones forge a sound that's urgent, honest and impactful. With blistering guitar riffs, thunderous drum beats, and raw vocals, they command attention from the moment they hit the stage. Their music is a visceral experience, filled with raw emotion and unapologetic attitude.

🌿Bracken🌿
Bracken are a band that was originally formed in 2014 in the Village of Douglas South Lanarkshire. Although some changes have taken place through the years in its makeup, the 5 piece band still maintains close to its original musical focus of playing mostly "Rock" covers with 1 or 2 of our own being thrown in over that time.
Bracken currently play across Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Glasgow and still enjoy a "Live and Loud" ethos which is well received wherever we play.

🟢Hippy🟢
Hippy is the now established collaboration between singer/ songwriter Paul 'Hippy' Hipson and guitarist Hugh Frizell with the project based in Glasgow.
Forrmed in Glasgow back in September 2019 owing to a chance meeting between Paul and Hugh. Hippy originally played early shows as a more acoustic voiced duo. However as demand grew for a bigger more expansive live show, they added 2 further members in '22 with Johnny D arriving on bass and G-Man on drums.
Initial early singles such as 'Junkyard Babies' and 'Volunteer' were received with genuine positivity from critics and fans alike. The outfit received some national radio airplay and played notable Glasgow shows at venues such as Room2, Barras Art & Design (BAAD) and the Old Hairdressers to name a few.
2 full studio albums have subsequently been released with debut 'Behind Every Song Is A Story' being released in September '20 followed up quickly by 'Falling In Love With Being Alive' in August '21. Both albums met warmly by critics and fans of the band noting a distinctive sound and eye (and ears) for melodies and a song.
Post release of FILWBA saw Hippy play some further headline shows in their hometown, Glasgow and again also enjoy a generous share of local and national radio play with every release.
In particular the prominent rock critic/ journalist Billy Sloan, being one. Billy has regularly played and championed the band on his Saturday night BBC Radio show. Further singles were released such as 'Boho Eskimo', 'Waiting For Love', 'Collateral' and recently a cover of the band's live Beatles crowd pleaser 'I've Got A Feeling' with all being given a great reception either online or live.
Moving into '24 sees Hippy cement their live show full band experience and with more gigs this year to follow. The remainder of '24 sees the band take in some local festivals plus another headline show at Room2, Glasgow on July 20th. More gigs later in the year are also being planned.
'We tried our best and gave it our all'

🌿Clyde Wind Farm Scholarship Fund Open🌿
The Clyde Wind Farm Scholarship Fund is once again open for applications to support young people into university. The scholarship programme helps local students with their expenses while creating a pool of well-trained and experienced professionals, transforming career prospects in the Clyde area and positively impacting future generations.
Six scholarships of £5,000 each will be awarded to different students who are studying one or a combination of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees in the coming academic year. The funds are paid towards the scholar’s student loan, reducing the amount to repay after graduation. The application deadline is Friday 13th September 2024.
To be eligible applicants need to live in South Lanarkshire, Scottish Borders, or Dumfries & Galloway, be taking a STEM course at a UK college or university in 2024/25 academic year and will be taking receipt of a loan from the Student Loans Company in the coming year of study.
In addition to the local scholarships, Clyde Wind Farm is also investing directly into education within renewables. Two scholarships of £10,000 each, along with operational industry expertise from the wind farm, will be made every year for three years to post-graduates studying for an MSc in courses relating to renewables at the University of Strathclyde. Clyde Wind Farm is one of Europe’s biggest operational wind farms. With 206 turbines it generates enough renewable energy to power over 290,000 homes. It is a joint venture partnership between SSE Renewables, Greencoat UK Wind Plc and GLIL Corporate Holdings Ltd.
The wind farm has contributed over £220m of social and economic benefit to both the Clyde area as well as across Scotland since construction started in 2009, including job creation and skills training. Community benefit is central to Clyde Wind Farm’s plans, and they are expanding on the current £58m lifetime community fund value already committed through these local scholarships.
More details on criteria and the application process are available on the SSE Renewables website, www.sserenewables.com/communities/scholarship-funds.
Scholarships and Skills funds | SSE Renewables In addition to community funding, we provide funding support from some of our larger wind farms in Scotland, England, Ireland and Northern Ireland to help students and others progress towards further education.

Their debut single, ‘Animals’, was featured on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe.
They marked their first festival slot at 2023's Y Not? on the Scruff of the Neck stage, showcasing their talent alongside major UK acts such as THE HARA, Swim Deep, and Shambolics.
The group has had a fruitful year so far, having played their first headline show at the world-renowned King Tut's Wah Wah Hut as part of its New Year's Revolution festival showcase. More recently, they headlined the Stag & Dagger Festival in May at Glasgow’s Broadcast venue.
Spawned from the dissatisfaction of being in bands without direction, the path is now clear for these Scottish rockers.

**Douglasdale Community Woodland**
Douglasdale community woodland is now officially owned and managed by Douglasdale REAL Group.
We at Douglasdale REAL Group would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved.
Clyde Wind Farm Trust (SSE Renewables) who funded the purchase of the woodland and covered our staffing costs.
Duncan Bryden of Bryden Associates, William Gilfillan of WMG Consultancy Ltd and Alison Mackay from Egret Consultancy for the feasibility study and business plan.
REF for funding the feasibility study and business plan.
And to South Lanarkshire Council for facilitating the transfer in its entirety, which concluded earlier this year.
To mark this momentous achievement for the community, the group sourced funding from the micro-grant scheme to make a new replacement sign. On the 17th of October a band of merry volunteers met Dominic, our new Community Development Officer at the woodland to install the new sign and remove some of the old tree guards. The volunteers worked tirelessly to remove numerous trailer loads of tree guards and create the space for our new sign. An outstanding effort has been made by our volunteers, not just on the 17th of October but on many occasions during the whole process of gaining ownership of this valuable community asset. Once again Douglasdale REAL Group thanks you all for your efforts and your support.
On the 15th of October, Douglasdale Real Group held our annual fishing competition on the Policies Loch.
On the day, John McConville was victorious, landing the biggest pike weighing in at 9 and 3/4 pounds.
Douglasdale Real Group would like to thank Douglas and Angus estate for allowing us access to the loch for the day. We would also like to thank Kyle MacMillan for donating the winners trophy, John Leach for his donation of the fishing overbag and David Webb for donating the bite alarm. Thanks also go to Neil Easton for helping oversee the competition.
I am proud to have led this Act in Scotland - and very pleased to have it come into force from this week.
The Hunting with Dogs Act marks a historic milestone for Scottish wildlife protection.
The law, passed by the Scottish Parliament, strikes a balance. It bans barbaric hunting methods but allows farmers and land managers to undertake legitimate wildlife management.
