"Grief doesn’t end, but it changes. It is a passage, not a place to stay. It is not a sign of weakness, nor lack of faith. It is the price of love"
11 years ago I held our sweet angel as he went to meet his Heavenly Father. Still this day is hard, really hard but life has continued on. Our red hair, blue eyed baby was put through so much in his short 3.5 years on this earth. It is hard to imagine the pain and suffering he went through, all with a smile on his face. He loved Star Wars and died with a Star Wars tattoo on his hand. The irony is not lost on the fact you died on Star Wars day.
Tomorrow we will host our annual clay shoot for Big Love Cancer care in your memory and hope to raise money to support other families fighting this same battle. We love you to the moon and back sweet angel. Forever 3

I can’t believe that I became a mom 14 years ago for the very first time. You aren’t able to celebrate here on earth with us but will be celebrating in the Heavens. Tonight we will sing happy birthday and blow out candles but it is not the same without you here. This was the last party we had with you. I think all you ate was corn and cupcakes but it was your birthday so why not? We love you to the moon and back Aidan. Forever 3 💔

Today was meant to be the BIG one, the golden one. Turning 13 on the 13th but God had other plans for our boy. I often wonder what he would be like as a teenager and wish I had just one more day with him.

Today was rushed as we are flying to Vermont to see my sister and go skiing. We celebrated with cupcakes on the airplane which isn’t a bad way to spend the evening. We love you to the moon and back sweet angel. Until we meet again… 💔

I pray today that each of you can take a step back and view a person or situation with compassion and understanding. You never know what is weighing heavy on their heart and mind. Today, 9 years later, I still remember holding my child as he took his last breath. I have nightmares and anxiety all the time but today especially. But my family still has to go on as if it is a normal day. I often wonder how if affects my kids, especially Jaxon. He was the only that ever had the chance to know Aidan. Today his sweet teacher sent me this email, “I am thinking of you and your family today since I know how important today is for you all. Jaxon very openly and kindly shared with our class about the anniversary of his brother's passing. He was teary-eyed and made us all teary-eyed as well. He is such a brave wonderful brother. Jaxon brought so much warmth and care to our class today by having the courage and vulnerability to share the meaning of today for him. It was spontaneous and very sweet. We love him! ... 😊”.
So please always remember to be kind, compassionate and understanding as you never know what storm someone is passing through. We love you to the moon and back Aidan! May the fourth be with you.
