Touchpoints- Spiritual Dryness
Scorching temperatures, blazing sun, and days without rain will bring a drought. Plants wilt, streams dry up – everything is dry and thirsty. We can all relate to that parched feeling where we long for a cup of cold water.
Our souls can become dry too, thirsting for something that will be truly fulfilling. Seasons of drought come to our spiritual life when we experience the blazing pressures of the world or the heat of temptation. Our desire to know God and serve him dries up.
Just as a gardener must take extra care of plants in a drought, so we must take care of our souls in times of spiritual dryness — watering them with God’s Word and reviving them with a sense of renewed purpose.
Just as God sends the rains to refresh the earth, he also sends us opportunities to revive our passion and purpose for him.
When we see the chance to refresh our soul, we must act immediately before the dryness in our soul causes unnecessary damage to our faith.

THE WARNING

THE CONSEQUENCES
Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, with the cup of astonishment and desolation... Ezekiel 23:33
And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. Luke 21:34
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God - Galatians 5:21.
THE APPEAL
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying Romans 13:13
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8
ENCOURAGEMENT
If you are not addicted, QUIT NOW. It's not worth losing Heaven for?
If you are STRUGGLING TO QUIT, tell yourself: Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
If you think that you are too far in to QUIT NOW seek God's help because "with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible" Matthew 19:26.
