Having a hard time picking a carrier oil? Use this chart to choose the one that works best for your skin and purpose. My favorites: grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, and coconut oil. It's always a good idea to use cold pressed, oranic carrier oils as well.
All set up and ready to teach my first class. Wish me luck!!
To follow up on my previous post about bug bites, wouldn't it be better to just avoid them to begin with? My kids and I seem to attract mosquitoes more than others. Let me tell you- this spray WORKS! I feel better about using this on them rather than the chemically made commercial sprays too. Win win! **I will note that this recipe recommends combining 2 different blends. This is tyically not recommended as combining blends can change the synergy of them in original form. I feel a good alternative for Thieves in this recipe would be to use Clove essential oil. I do not have any so I used the recipe as it stands.**
Apparently Chickie walked through a swarm of mosquitoes while at the sitters yesterday and came home with almost 30 bug bites. She was up all night itching so I made up an anti-itch roller bottle this morning. 5 drops lavender, 5 drops tea tree oil, 2 drop frankincense, 1 drop peppermint topped with grapeseed oil. So far, so good!
So, you got your oils and want to use them but have no idea where to start. Most oils can be diffused, the vitality oils can be used internally, and many can be used topically. Look at the label on your oil to see how they can be used. If using them topically, you can often use them directly on the spot you are trying to treat (temples for headache, lavender on cuts and bruises, etc.) but did you know that using them on your feet is a highly effective way to treat locations all over the body? Your feet have the largest pores on your body and different spots on your feet are directly related to body functions and organs. Try using this chart to apply your oils to your feet next time! It's also a great way to use oils on your kiddos while keeping them safely away from hands and eyes.
When using your oils, be sure to check your label for the correct way to use and dilute them. Remember, kids and pets need to have their oils diluted more than adults. Use this chart as a quick cheat sheet for dilution percentages.
The family and I spent the day on our boat yesterday. We had a good time but came home with a little more sun than we bargained for. While the girls had plenty sunsceen applied, my husband did not. His back was fried. Luckily, I had a bottle of this spray made up and it cooled the burn in no time. Try it next time you need a refreshing mist after a hot day or after too much sun!
Today I felt a bit off and had a sore throat that just wasn't responding to any cough drops or traditional soothers. Finally I made up a mixture of decaf tea, 2 Tbs raw honey, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, 1 drop Thieves oil, 3 drops Lemon oil, and 2 drops peppermint oil. Ahh finally some sweet relief! I also rubbed some Thieves oil, peppermint oil, and grapeseed oil on my throat and covered it with a warm washcloth. These oils are great!!
