"Art is universal," as they say, and it has been around like that for years. For years, our society has defined this term, and it has instilled this definition in our minds, which we share with others. As for them, there is no right definition for the word "art" itself. By universal, it means that it can mean a lot of things and that it is subjective, just like how we choose our music tastes or how we like our pizza cooked. You can like listening to heavy metal while looking through a Renaissance piece of art while eating your burnt crust pizza, or I like my music to be jazz while deciphering a 1521 painting that came from the Atlantis sea while waiting for my chocolate banana pizza order from a local New York-based restaurant. Bottom line: art can be defined by humans, and as long as we don't all think the same way and act like apocalyptic robots in movies, art will not cease to have one meaning forever.

The thing is, there are a lot of things that are familiar with this topic, and it will take centuries if we discuss this whole thing. But what does it even do to our lives? Has it affected me in any way, or has it done something to me all through my days of living?

We wake up every day or every night with different routines. Now get a hundred people and film all of those routines from one angle, then compile, edit, and add the finishing touches. Now what we see is a film that is time-lapsed, and it can be defined as art. Then, make a song out of it with all lyrics only related to the film, and discuss with yourself how you will put emotion into the song by adjusting dynamics and notes. Make it sentimental or meaningful since it is all about life. If you finish it, perhaps half a thousand people who listen to and watch it will consider it art.

And that was something I only thought of a while ago, and I think I can really implement this in reality. With that, it is just amazing how this brain of ours really works, and a lot of chain reactions, violent thinking, or perhaps countless emotions will be released in this two-fist-sized organ of ours. Now, art can affect us by, of course, touching our sense of reality or by distorting it. It can shape us into a different kind of human or change our ways of thinking at a point when we are very old. Art can make us good to others, or it can instill this new attitude in us. It can make us cry or laugh, and even make us very sentimental. It can revive an old memory or install a new memory in our minds. Just by using our senses to absorb it, emotion will scatter throughout our bodies, and maybe it can make us philosophic at anytime. And that is only if you are in the side of taking in and absorbing the concepts of different artworks into your soul. Making your own is a different side, and it is a cycle that is gorgeous and harmonically beautiful.

Now this is what art does to us. I guess it really isn’t wrong to call this essay art? I would love to make this one of my artworks. This is how I define life and art in relation to each other. Thank you.
