A small group of believers, believe the baptism of the holy spirit began to meet and hold prayer service in the home of Thomas Mulamuttil in Melpadom village in 1929.They did not a have a written mission statement, however they were on a mission to come together and strength their strong spiritual faith in God. They received permission from the property owner Kuttiachen Kochupurayil to create a ch
urch (later he donated the property to the church and moved to Cherukole for God's ministry). This time the members named the church as INDIAN PENTECOSTAL CHURCH (I.P.C) MELPADOM and it is approved by IPC Headquarters in Kumbanad led by K.E Abraham. Some of the first members were Mulamuttil Thomas, Peedikayil Philipose, Chempumtharayil Ikkichen, Mundakathil Pappi, Meenatheril Chackochen, Kottakuziyil Marriamma, M.V Varghese(dist pastor alleppy east), Athimuttil Kochukutty, Chakkittayil Yohanan, Pazhangeril Kunjachen , Puthenpurakkel Chakochen, Kappiarseril Thomas, Chirayil Thomman sir, Kodakeril Geeverchen, Maliyil Kunjukunju, Pavadiyil Kochupappi sir, Mamuttil Mathewchen, Marakamparambil Chackochen, 12-il Paulose, Thottunilam Thomas, Kottayil Pappachen, Kuzhuvelil Kuttiachen, Karukayil Mathayiachen(near Theaveri School), Moonumulayil George, Naknaril Samuel Pastor, Cherimuttel Kochukutty, Madathil Chinnamma, Anavirithil Chinnu, Modisheril Rachelamma and Marriamma, Theverkuziyil Aleyamma, Thamaravellil Marykutty, Kanneril Mariamma, Kavunkal Thankamma, Palapallyil Nallammachi and Aleyamma, Thalayina Kandathil Kunjukunju, Pampanath Sosamma Kurian. Those who went for God's ministry from Melpadom church were M.V varghese(Dist. Pastor Alleppy East), Naknaril Samuel, Meenatheril M.C Varghese, Ittarci Kurian(son in law of Kuttiachen Kochupurayil). In the third generation were Kottakuzhiyil John Ommen(Punjab), Sunil(Chattisgarah), Karukayil Monachen, 12-il Johnnykutty(mavelikara), Cherian Thottunilam(kollam), P.G Varghese Punchodil(Melpadom), Reji Kodakeril(Thenmala), Santhosh Mathew Kodakeril(chengannur), Sunny Pulinilkumtharayil(Punalur),Das Kodumualayil(Pathnamthitta), Iype Chacko Thundathil(Alwaye), singer cm pastor Prasad Karukayil(Vennikulam). Pastors of IPC Melpadom church since 1931 to 2014 are Kuttiachen Melpadom, Kochuommen Melpadom, Kandathil Pappi, Maykozhur Mathayichen(Assit. Pastor), T.G Ommen, Kochukoshy, M.V varghese(Assit. Pastor), Poovathoor Kunjomma, Ranni Vettickal Kuttiachen, Puthuparambil Unnikunju, T.N Abraham, Dr. John Daniel(Assit Pastor), Podikunju, George(pappachen), K.C John, C.I Cherian, K.V George, K.J James, K.V Chacko, T.M Mathew, T.G Philip, John Scariah, Joseph Varghese, K.M Mathew, Ninan Philip, Moncy. With over 100 families, the Melpadom I.P.C Church organized many church activities and programs, among them Sunday School, PYPA, Sodarisamajam, V.B.S, Fasting prayers, Bible class, Choir, Street Evangelism, Supporting Ministers, Helping economically backward people. Now the church is led by pastor Moncy M John.
