Martin Luther King - I Have A Dream Speech - August 28, 1963 15/01/2024

MLK day reminds us how far we have come and how much is left to achieve. It begins with intentionality -- each in our own way.
In my advocacy for children and adults and student clinicians with disabilities, I have always remembered these words of Reverend King,

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." Silence inevitably means compliance.

and these words from his "I have a dream speech" in 1963, sixty-one years ago ...

"...and when we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, Black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual: Free at last. Free at last. Thank God almighty, we are free at last."

Each of us can do more, better....
