Another project of note that Peter Moore helmed was Garth Hudson's 2010 revisiting of classic songs by The Band featuring a stellar line up of Canadian artists including Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn, Cowboy Junkies, Blue Rodeo, and many more.
Garth Hudson Presents a Canadian Celebration of The Band In this first ever solely Canadian recording of The Band's songs, original band member Garth Hudson enlisted Canadian musicians Blue Rodeo, Bruce Cockburn, Great Big Sea, Chantal Kreviazuk, Raine Maida, Mary Margaret O'Hara, The Sadies and Neil Young, among others, to create this historic album.
CBC Radio One (99.1 in Toronto) is featuring a segment on Peter Moore at 6:45 ET this evening on the program 'As It Happens'
You can stream it at the CBC website... go to Live Radio. The archive of tonight's program should also be available on the 'As It Happens' page by tomorrow.

On this day in music history, Oct 29, 1974, David Bowie releases his first live album, 'David Live".
This album had a huge impact on me as a young, burgeoning Bowiephile. It demonstrated the artist's highly developed ability to quickly morph from one style to another. In this case, gritty glam rock and proto punk to contemporary soul music, in only weeks, between the release of 'Diamond Dogs' in May and the start of its tour in June of that year.
This album also showed his ability to transform earlier compositions into clever arrangements stylistically reflective of the current style in which he resided, incorporating an expanded 12 piece band, while introducing this young fanboy to his remarkable and diverse back catalogue of material from the previous five years. A gateway to a vast array of musical things (such as detail), I'd rush home after Grade 8 classes, put on the headphones and wait for those two or three grace notes David Sanborn would play in the left channel on baritone sax in 'Moonage Daydream'.
