Be safe out there!

Halloween is just around the corner and we have already seen some pretty amazing costumes! If you are celebrating this year remember that costumes do not equal consent. If someone is wearing a sexy outfit and you are attracted to them, you still have to ask for consent and respect their answer. Their costume does not mean you have permission to touch them, slap their butts, or verbally harass them. It doesn't matter how revealing (or not) their costume is, how hot you think they look, or who they are dressed up as.

Everyone has a right to enjoy their Halloween in whatever they choose to wear without being harassed or assaulted. Enjoy the party or the trick o' treating extravaganza and keep the touching and street harassment to yourself.

LET'S TALK PARTY CULTURE! Jamie Utt will be on campus this Saturday speaking to our students about creating a culture of consent in party environments. Head over to The Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union Theater Satuday at 4pm to get involved in the conversation!
