Hello, to my network of talented people around the world. I've noticed that applying for jobs with hundreds of applicants online doesn’t seem effective in this job market anymore. The odds feel like being struck by lightning.

My previous job ended two months ago due to workforce reduction AKA, I was laid off. I’ve been busy with freelance work and I'm grateful to those who have allowed me to design for them. Just wrapped up an awesome project with Gselldesigns, a designer who makes some seriously gorgeous handcrafted handbags!

I got to redesign her hang tags, by updating the existing logo and printing them using a letterpress.

I love how they turned out – they really add that extra touch of class to her beautiful bags.

Working with other creative folks is the best. It's so much fun to see their products shine even brighter with a little design magic.

Hello, I'm Lauren, and I am the founder and graphic designer for Hello Happiness Design. I thought I would re-introduce myself and tell you a little about my background. (sorry for the long post 😬, but please read all the way to the bottom👇🏼)

I have been designing for almost 2 decades. When I look back on this amount of time, it's hard to even comprehend or compute the number of projects I have completed over the years.

I graduated from the prestigious Maryland Institute College of Art with a BFA in graphic design, and then almost 2 decades later an MS in Business of Art and Design.

The jobs I have had and the projects I have worked on really shaped my career and put me on the path I am currently on. I founded Hello Happiness Design in 2015, and in April 2021 I made it my full-time job, leaving the corporate world for good.

The name, "Hello Happiness Design" has a lot of significance. First, I was leaving a job that was majorly affecting my mental health, and I left without another job lined up. Normally, a person would be upset, but I felt a huge weight lift off my shoulders. I blasted my favorite music by Dave Matthews, rolled down my windows, and screamed on the top of my lungs "HELLO HAPPINESS". And that's where the name came from. 😁

Hello Happiness Design's name has so much more meaning behind it than me leaving a terrible job. When I create a new design for a client, it brings me joy to witness how incredibly grateful they are to have a design they love to represent their brand. Great design brings happiness, not just for myself, or my clients, but also for you. When you experience a fun billboard as you are driving on the highway, choose a product on the shelf because you love the packaging, or enter an event with lots of fun signage, these are all memorable experiences that people have with a design. That is what gets me up in the morning to do what I do. Happiness is a feeling I want people to have with my designs. I want what I design to bring joy.

If I have designed something for you, I hope that I was able to make you happy, that is my goal, I am a people pleaser (good or bad, that is my trait). We partnered with HVR to create some custom influencer kits to help promote their new Ranch Night campaign. We had fun designing checkers, playing cards, and matching games, an apron, spatula, recipe cards, tissue paper, and packaging.
