Charles Community on Facebook is a place where we can encourage and
motivate each other, as well as share the latest weight loss tips and health and fitness information! Classes are Monday's at 8:30 am, Tuesday's at 4:45 pm, Friday's at 10:00 am and Saturdays at 10:30 am.

Our movie outing night is Tuesday, August 16th. We will be meeting at Charlestowne Theatre at 6:10 p.m. We will meet in the lobby of the theatre so we can all be seated together.

Don’t forget about your lips. Does your lipstick or lip gloss have an SPF of at least 15?
Soda, candy, cookies, and white flour are all refined carbohydrates, which are concentrated
sugar sources. These foods can give you an energy boost, but they’ll also cause you to fatigue
very soon after. Choose your snacks wisely.
Instead of a movie for date night this weekend, try bowling, miniature golf, hiking, or roller
skating. Get out and move a little!
Time saving tip–wash, cut, and pre-portion your fresh fruits and veggies as soon as you get
home from the store. You’ll have easy-to-grab healthy snacks all week!
Loneliness is a trigger for mindless eating. Instead of loading up on empty calories, call a friend,
get together with you Curves workout buddies or volunteer with a local nonprofit.
Take advantage of the fresh produce at the farmer’s markets. There’s so much to choose from
this time of year. What’s your favorite?
How are you staying active this summer - hiking in the mountains, kayaking on vacation, walking
on the beach, playing with the kiddos at the park? Just make sure to keep moving!
Do you want soft and supple skin? Load up on fruits and veggies like apricots, carrots, spinach,
pumpkin, and cantaloupe. They’re good for your skin and your waistline!
Did you know that buttered corn on the cob is a common summer heartburn trigger? Sweet
summer corn has so much flavor without the butter. Instead of covering with butter, try grilling
and adding just a sprinkle of cayenne pepper for something different.
Extra walking is a great way to boost fat burn and stay flexible. Make sure you’re getting your
