This morning PCSO 8500 Sarah Burton & PCSO 16930 Lucy Hadfield from visited Sherratts Wood CIC Middleton Green, Leigh, Stoke-On-Trent ST10 4PQ. At Sherratts Wood Staff offer inspirational activities for adult social care support, Learning disability and Community Day services, and what an amazing place it is!
They definitely do what they say they say they do, which is "helping extraordinary people live ordinary lives", and today we met lots of young people who were so enthusiastic about the learning that takes place at Sherratts Wood, and we can see exactly why. From Gary the goat, to the gym, sensory room and the crafts they make to sell at events, Sherratts Wood is definitely the place to be!!

This week we had a visit from Lucy and Sarah two lovely PCSO from Staffordshire police. The ladies came in to chat with us about personal safety, kindness and respect and left the guys with a few tools to take home to help them to stay safe while they are out and about in the community 👮👮‍♀️

What a busy week on the farm last week with the animals from daily health checks, feeding, mucking out, alpaca hair cuts and finishing the week off with a trip out to bring our new baby goats home.🐑🦆🐖🐴🐐🦙

So a few weeks ago in anticipation of the olymipics the guys decided to hold their own games…. We had wellie wanging, the hurdles and ball skills but more importantly lots of smiles all around 💚💚💚

On the menu this week we have had panini pizza, assorted sandwiches, burgers with wedges and salad, ploughman’s salad and fishfinger baps with wedges and salad followed by homemade rice pudding, chocolate beetroot cake and flapjack yummy….🥗🍔🍕🥪

Over the last few weeks the guys have been busy making our display for the scarecrow festival at st Mary’s church in uttoxeter….. can you guess our theme?

We’ve all got green thumbs…. The guys have been busy planting hanging baskets and planters here at the farm 🪴🌻🌼 we have also been out to Holly road community centre working in the community garden…🌷🌻

Last week was all about the sheep 🐑 they had a full health check and glow up from top to toe!!!

A lovely trip out to visit Mary’s Moon and learning about all of the history.
