Happy Diwali y’all! Let love & hope light up your darkest days & always guide your way. 🌈🤍

01/06/2021

Yesterday was the best day ever. I got to marry my best friend & the love of my life, surrounded with the most genuine love & support from the most special people in our lives- some in person & many more via livestream. 🙏 It took a lot of work & we got so much help from our friends & family & the best vendors (and now just new friends) we could’ve asked for. It was a beautiful, magical experience to share with you all and I’ll be forever grateful & cherish every single moment spent with you. My heart & soul are so full. 💕

It’s Father’s Day. It’s a day. The good ones should be celebrated anytime, yet today can be a hard day for a lot of folks. My dad finished raising me as a single man after my mom died. He actually had to battle & won custody of my bro & I, over our ‘bio’ dad, whom I never had a relationship with, nor cared to. He’s my hero- but he isn’t perfect. He’s quick to rush off the phone than let me hear him cry. As triggering as my cancer is for him, I’d rather we could cry together. My brother is much the same & despite him suffering his own childhood & traumas past, he’s managed to raise a couple of the best kids I’ve ever known. I wish we were closer. Kapil & I likely won’t have our own bio kids, but he’s the best fur dad a gal could ask for. I’m amazed by the love & patience he has with our dogs & he’s become quite the plant dad too, making sure to talk to & water our newest additions to the family when I’m too tired. This is the 1st Fathers Day without his dad. We connected spiritually in a way that’s difficult to describe. Maybe because we were both Leo’s. I miss him.
To all those without dads, bad dads, step-dads, single dads & those that can’t be ‘real’ dads, I hope you just have a happy day today & every other day. Fatherly figures can be anyone, anytime. Don’t be afraid to step-up for a kid, sibling or anyone that seems like they could use some of whatever you’ve got to offer.

Hi people!! I don’t really social media much these days & I’ve been on a healing hiatus, as you probably know. I absolutely miss teaching & some acting 😉 If you are in need of coaching, im more than willing to do some zoom classes, reading lines, audition prep, etc. I could perhaps be into some distanced in person 1 on 1’s. Just give me a holler and I’ll try to pay more attention. Heads up though, I am currently in the hospital for another emergency b**b surgery. So don’t expect super quick responses right now. Thanks for your healing thoughts & your patience. We all got this!

Wow. What a difference a healthcare team can make. My new doctors and the nurses & staff at Piedmont, along with the cancer wellness center there have given me the opportunity to actually see a light at the end of all this. I made this little vision board to bring into the hospital along with a couple of my special crystals that I’ve been meditating with. I woke up to the best news yesterday. No positive lymph nodes, so I only had to lose 3, and they were able to spare my ni**le & skin & put in a small implant to get me through radiation (which will also help protect my muscle through it). My doctors were so attentive to what was important to me & the emotional aspect of feeling like a ‘whole’ person. The old doctors never even acknowledged that Kapil & I were engaged or that I was loosing my opportunity to work and act or that my family is being traumatized with the history of my mom dying at this age or anything really. I didn’t even feel like I was treated like a real person there (other than my amazing chemo nurse). Now I actually have the opportunity to get some of my old life back, though things will never be the same- and I feel like that can be a good thing now. I’ll be able to wear a real bra soon- something I haven’t had in several months & hopefully a wedding dress soon too. I may even get to hiking the national parks again! And my doctors are hopeful, they talk about my personal future and goals & spend time getting to know me as an individual. It’s made all the difference to me and my family/friends. I haven’t been too open about this whole thing because I honestly didn’t have much hope before. It’s not an easy road y’all. And not one you can go alone (thought it does feel like that at times). But with the right people and support around you, you can be lifted into a new world. I’m so grateful for your support. You continue to reach out (even if I don’t respond very timely) & and the financial assistance (which isn’t easy to ask for but helps tremendously) I feel all of your good vibes coming my way. Thank you thank you thank you. Love you guys . 🙏🌈
