Happy Monday! Yesterday caught me on a walk instead of a run and man do I prefer running 🙈😅! But this was quite a workout nonetheless. Max elevation 445M the second pic is a view from the top (which made it a little worth it) hahaha. P.S I keep forgetting to take post-run pics. Will try harder to remember next time!

Throwback to Tuesday when my energy level was zero and my emotional state was questionable. After my warm up I was seconds away from giving up because I just didn’t feel like it BUT I cranked the music fought the tears (yes I almost cried 😅) and this was the end result! Strength, willpower and discipline all take training. To say I’m proud of myself would be a gross understatement! Let’s finish the week STRONG 💪🏽.

Gym bag appreciation. Over these past few weeks my gym bag has been completely repurposed. Here we’re looking at a weighted bag ready for deadlifts and squats. Versatility at its best?

A good stretching session especially after a run is my FAVORITE! Here are some reasons why:.
👟 Increases Flexibility
👟 Decreases of injuries
👟 Helps to prevent soreness AND 🥁 helps me increase my stride length and speed! .
All these benefits and MORE and it only takes about 5 minutes after each run 😁. How’s your stretching routine?

In recent weeks I’ve noticed much more persons walking and running within their communities.... observing social distancing of course 😁 (THIS MAKES ME VERY HAPPY!). So I decided to share 3 common lower limb injuries to look out for as you run or walk.
1️⃣Anterior knee pain- This most commonly occurs because the patella (knee cap) is not moving properly in the lower part of your thigh bone. This can be caused by: Weak Quads, Patella Tendonitis, Patella mal-tracking or other conditions.
2️⃣ Achilles pain- This usually begins as a stiffness along the Achilles’ tendon (Heel chord) that tends to go away over time. However it can then progress to pain and discomfort if not treated. Pain tends to get worse when you increase your speed when running or when going up an incline.
3️⃣ Plantar fasciitis- Pain and discomfort is usually felt on the sole of your foot and is most painful in the morning but tends to ease as the day progresses. Most common cause is due to improper footwork and lack of stretching.
Like most conditions these problems can resolve with exercise and stretching! Keep safe, stay Healthy

Now is NOT the time to stop moving! Exercise has been proven to:
- STRENGTHEN our immune system
- Decrease stress and anxiety levels
- Increase “feel good” hormones
- Increase lung and heart function
These are just a few benefits to a regular exercise routine can elicit. So what are you waiting on to get up and get moving?

Osteoporosis is a medical condition in which your body makes too little bone, loses too much bone or a combination of both. Studies suggest that 1 in every 2 women over 50 years and 1 in every 4 men over 65 years will suffer a fracture due to Osteoporosis. .
Osteoporosis is sometimes referred to as a “silent disease” because one CANNOT feel their bones weakening.
The GOOD news is it CAN be treated with exercise and medication. .
Let’s play our part and help to prevent Osteoporosis and those those suffering from it.
