Clifton-Clyde K-12 Music
This page is to provide information and updates about the Clifton-Clyde General Music, Band, and Choir programs.
Reminder!
Tomorrow is concert day!! It will be at 2:30 in the auditorium. Please have kids bring their concert color to school. 4th graders need to bring their red shirt to school and change later as some are participating in a water fight before the concert.
Colors are:
Kindergarten- blue
1st grade- green
2nd grade- yellow
3rd grade- orange
4th grade- red
If you are attending the concert, you will be able to pick your child up at the auditorium. There will be one finale song with all grades K-4 at the end, so please have your child stay for the whole concert.
Please let your students teacher know you are there to take them home. All other walkers and parent pick up will be at the grade school. If you are attending the concert please park across the street in the parking lot. Do not park directly in front of the school. That is where buses will be loading and unloading.
The PK-4 concert will be postponed due to a death in my family. I am rescheduling the concert for May 18th at 2:30. The students will still need to wear their class color for the concert. This will still be open to the public, and I will be live streaming it here for those who cannot make it. I’m so sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Class colors:
4th grade- Red
3rd grade- Orange
2nd grade- Yellow
1st grade- Green
Kindergarten- Blue
This year 4th graders have been participating in Recorder Dojo. They each perform different songs and receive a “belt” based on the level of their song. These kids have done 10 tests and made it all the way to black belt!! Congratulations!!
The CCMS/CCHS concert is Thursday! Please let me know if you have any questions!
Here is information for the Pk-4 concert on May 9th. If you have any questions or problems finding the right color of shirt please let me know!
Recently purchased some alto recorders for 4th grade and they got to try them out today!
6th graders got this two days ago!! They will be a great addition to the pep band in the future!
Music took advantage of the nice day with a rhythm relay and a rhythm mix-n-match! We had so much fun!
Kindergarteners are learning a new dance and just having a blast! Enjoy the Penguin Polka!
The middle and high school concert is coming up! January 24th at 7:00. Here is more information:
Just a reminder! Tomorrow Tuesday, December 14th is the PK-4 Christmas Concert! I would like the kids in the Middle School Gymnasium at 6:30.
Kindergarten is wearing pajamas and needs to bring a blanket
1st grade is dressing up as candy: candy canes, sugar plums, marshmallows, etc (red and white, purple, shirts with candy on them etc)
2nd grade is dressing up as elves so anything red and green is great! I have elf hats for them.
3rd grade is dressing up as reindeer so they just need to wear brown. I have antlers for them.
4th grade is wearing normal concert attire.
Thank you all!
Community band… due to wet weather we will not be performing in the parade. I do not want to damage instruments! Enjoy the Watermelon Festival!
We will be having a community band rehearsal tomorrow at 4:30 in the band room. Anyone interested can join!
Community band members, I will see you at 5:00 tonight in the CCHS band room!
Community musicians! If you are interested in participating in the community pep band please email me with the instrument you play and available times for rehearsals before Monday! Can’t wait to work with you all!
Just a reminder to incoming 5th grade families. If you need an instrument I will be at CCMS auditorium from 8-12 and CCHS band room 1-6 on Monday during enrollment. See you then!
I still only have two responses. Please have your 7th grade student answer the Google form ASAP. It’s just one question so it won’t take long at all. Thank you!
7th grader families, a quiz was sent out to your 7th graders email back in May on whether they would like to take band or choir. Please have your student submit their response ASAP so we can get classes set up. Thank you!!
This year for 5th grade band, I will be testing available students on instruments at enrollment. This will give families a few weeks to find instruments and get the book. I will be at the middle school in the morning and high school in the afternoon. If you already have an instrument you do not need to stop by. This is only if you need one. If this does not work for you or your family, or you have any questions please let me know and we can make other arrangements! Thank you!
Calling all musicians! This year, I am looking for any and all community instrumentalists interested in helping out the CCE pep band! We will play at all home games and parades as long as there are enough players present. I plan on having a community members meet on August 9th to pass out some music and maybe rehearse a couple things. We will meet (if possible) once or twice a week in the evenings. I am really looking forward to this addition to the band! If you have any questions or are interested in joining, please email me at [email protected]
High School band had its challenges with small numbers as well. These girls did a great job overcoming them to perform “Castlehill Overture.”
Junior high band had small numbers this year, but the boys got to experience a wide variety of activities from bucket drumming to learning to play the drum set. Through it all, I think this is one of their favorite songs, “Boogie Blues.”
6th grade also has also had a crazy couple years of band, but they have grown so much in the last nine weeks when we finally could play together as one group! Please enjoy “Indigo Rock.” This song was extremely challenging as they played different parts but their hard work shows!
3rd grade sang a favorite “I Like Singing”.
Kindergarten enjoyed working on their song “On a Log.” We split into three parts and the kids sang and performed on rhythm sticks, triangles, and drums.
First grade really enjoyed singing their song “Oats, and Beans, and Barley Grow.” You can tell how much they enjoy it from the looks on their faces!
