Canada’s COVID-19 proof of vaccination is a standardized, reliable and secure way to show your vaccination history, in Canada and around the world. It was developed in close collaboration with the provinces and territories.

Canada’s COVID-19 proof of vaccination shows your vaccination history in a standard, easy to read, format that includes your province’s or territory’s logo, the Canada wordmark and a QR code. The proof of vaccination can be used for travel within Canada and around the world.

If you are a resident of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Yukon, you may already have the Canadian COVID-19 proof of vaccination. Look for the Canada wordmark and flag in the right hand corner.

The rest of the provinces will start to issue Canada’s COVID-19 proof of vaccination in the coming weeks, so it will be available from coast to coast to coast.

The proof of vaccination includes your name, date of birth, and vaccination info (number of doses, type(s), and date(s) of vaccine). This helps officials in Canada or abroad confirm whether you meet their public health requirements.

As of October 30, 2021, one of the ways you can use Canada’s COVID-19 proof of vaccination is to meet the new mandatory vaccination requirements for Canadian federally regulated transportation travellers. Learn more: https://www.canada.ca/en/transport-canada/news/2021/10/mandatory-covid-19-vaccination-requirements-for-federally-regulated-transportation-employees-and-travellers.html

ArriveCAN, the app and website that all travellers must use to submit mandatory information before arriving in Canada, has been updated to digitally verify the new standardized proof of vaccination. Reminder: ArriveCAN is not required for travel within Canada.

The Government of Canada encourages everyone who is able to do so to get vaccinated. Vaccination with a complete series of Health Canada-authorized vaccines is our best defense against the virus.
