Matt texted me late last year and asked if I knew anyone who could help with health/fitness/hormone/performance optimization. He also said he was looking to get a six pack. I told him I was his guy 🤝😎

Matt had quite a few long-duration travel plans between the time we originally chatted about my program and the time he intended to begin. But just as a testament to Matt’s determination / personal accountability, he elected to pay for the program right then and there, months before his start date. I lost 7.8lbs from the beginning to the end of my 26-day Eurotrip - here’s how I did it ⬇️

First and foremost, I had a time-sensitive goal. Without this, you will very have little incentive to turn your goal into reality. But with a time-sensitive goal, the actions you take each and every day matter more because they add up to the person you’ll be on that goal date.

I started my Eurotrip on May 12. But my goal was to be in the best shape of my life for Yacht Week, which was May 28-June 4. That meant I needed to continue making progress toward my goals for 16 days while traveling throughout Europe.

So how did I do it? With three simple strategies:

1. Tracking macros for everything I ate, no exceptions
2. Walking as my primary mode of transportation
3. Continuing to get in formal resistance workouts while traveling

Number 1 on the list was the single most important strategy because, in general, ~80% of your results will come from nutrition. If you’re overeating, you’re going to gain weight. If you’re undereating and not getting enough protein for more than a few days, you’re going to lose muscle mass.

So I tracked the calories in every meal I ate. Was this challenging? Absolutely lol literally every single day, I was eating some of the best food I’d ever had in my life. Foods I didn’t even know the names of/foods I couldn’t identify by sight.

All it took was asking my server the name of the dish/what was in each dish generally. Then I could log the individual meal components quite easily (ex: sea bass, extra virgin olive oil, vegetables, garlic lemon herb butter, italian bread, etc.).

I brought a pocket food scale to Europe, but only used it for ~10-20% of meals. The rest were estimated visually from the pictures I took of meals.

I also brought protein bars + protein powder to supplement because most European meals are high in fat/carbs but low in protein.

I also walked literally everywhere, which is one of my favorite things about Europe. And I worked out at gyms or in my hotel/hostel/AirBnb as often as it made sense to.

26-DAY TOTALS:
76,292 calories
480,815 steps

DAILY AVERAGES:
3,038 calories
18,493 steps

7.8lbs lost💪🏼

Zak’s 90-day transformation on the Lyon Shred 🤯💪🏼

I posted Zak’s transformation reel a few days ago, but I had to share the side-by-sides, too.

Zak’s physical transformation on the Lyon Shred has been incredibly impressive, but his transformation has permeated into the mental realm, too.

Something I really love about Zak’s story is that this actually isn’t the first time he has partaken in the Lyon Shred transformation contest. In a previous year, he was one of the runners-up in the contest. But as a testament to his resilience and determination, he competed in the contest again this year and absolutely blew it out of the water.

Paige has been an absolute rockstar on the program, and I cannot emphasize enough how inspiring her journey has been for myself and others in the Lyon Shred Community.

YA’LL!! CAN WE JUST TAKE A MINUTE and celebrate my client Caroline’s incredible transformation on the Lyon Shred At-Home?!😭🙌🏼

She made gains in strength+definition in the quads, abs, glutes, and arms, but even more importantly, she made gains in confidence and quality of life. In her own words:

“I decided to start Patrick’s at-home workout program + personalized macros after a health scare in July 2021. After I healed from a minor procedure on my back, I found Patrick’s IG and was inspired by the volume and depth of knowledge he shared with others. I followed him for a few weeks before I messaged him about starting the Lyon Shred program.

At the start, I felt so weak doing the simplest at home workouts like chair pistol squats. Even with a chair to fall back on, my legs were shaking with every rep, but I didn’t give up because one of my goals was growing my strength and my muscle definition.

My biggest challenge was nutrition. After years of restrictive diets, and intermittent fasting, I had to unlearn old habits and focus on getting enough protein. At one point, I was losing weight too quickly and had to ramp up my calorie intake. Without Patrick’s guidance and recommendations, I would have been at risk of burning my muscle mass and costing myself the very thing I was working so hard for.

SO FREAKING PROUD OF MY CLIENT/FRIEND CELINE AND HER TRANSFORMATION!!!

One of the hallmarks of a coach-client relationship is communication. And a big part of what made Celine so successful on the Lyon Shred Women’s Specialization Program was communicating. When she was seeing progress, she’d let me know so we could celebrate wins, big and small. When she went “off plan” and had an unplanned cheat meal, she’d tell me, and we’d make proper nutrition adjustments. When she needed additional help/support, she’d tell me that, too.

This is a huge part of what makes having a coach so valuable: accountability, communication, and programming adjustments. Your body and your life are dynamic, ever-changing things. Your nutrition/exercise programming should be, too.

MY CLIENT BILL JUST TURNED 74 YEARS OLD!! He is proof that it is NEVER too late to make a change🙌🏼

I got Bill’s permission to share this with you - Bill is the oldest client I have ever worked with. And he has continued to inspire me and the hundreds of people in the Lyon Shred Community all over the world through his journey.

I want to let Bill tell the rest of his story through his personal testimony.

After 1st workout in 2020: “1st workout done! I’m glad to say I didn’t skip any exercises, but I chose low weights to avoid soreness here at the start. And what’s my hurry? I’m just 73! Had 2 conversations, one with an old friend and one with a new acquaintance. Saw college-age folks doing things I may never be able to do, but also saw things that made me say, yeah, I can try that.”

After completing the Lyon Shred the first time: “During this time I’ve lost 14 pounds overall and 2 inches from my waist. When I started, I told Patrick I was recovering from a shoulder injury, so he designed my program with that in mind. I’ve not had any trouble with my shoulder throughout the program, the weights have continually increased, and it’s been surprising to develop muscles in places I hadn’t expected! Also, I’ve learned to think about food in an entirely different way.

One of the biggest lessons has been that it’s okay to have interruptions - just get back on the program and move forward again.

Then there’s Patrick - he’s supported me through every bit of this, and he’s there waiting for me to be able to get back into this.”

After completing the Lyon Shred for his THIRD round: “Today I’m completing 11 months of consistent weight training. The results have been remarkable. I’m stronger, more muscular, more active, more energetic.

My swimming has drastically improved to where I now swim a mile (32 laps) 3 times a week! I was coming out of a shoulder injury when I started and couldn’t do even one pushup, and now I do 22 pushups each morning. I look better in my clothes, and especially in my swimsuit! My initial goal was to lose 10 pounds, but now I’ve lost 17.”

Between these two sets of images, Felicia celebrated her birthday, went out with friends, and went on vacation trips. She wasn’t “perfect” with her workouts and meals every single day, and she still achieved these amazing results. It’s all about balance; she prioritized her health/fitness MOST of the time, and that’s more than enough for most people.

Going on a fitness journey should not mean you have to restrict yourself from living your best life, and Felicia is a perfect example of that.

In her own words: “My waist went from 30 inches to 26 inches! Literally 2 pant size difference. I weighed myself yesterday morning and was at 126 pounds (starting weight was 134). ’s absolutely incredible transformation on 💪🏼🤯😭🙌🏼

I cannot even begin to express how proud I am of Micah for his incredible transformation of mind, body, confidence, and health on the Lyon Shred. He’s worked SO hard over the last year, he’s lost 120lbs, he’s been a positive influence in the Lyon Shred Community, and his story is so inspiring. In his own words:

“The Lyon Shred has literally changed my life.

At the end of 2019, I was a 300 pound 16 year old that hated every aspect of myself and knew I needed a change.

So I did my own at home workouts. Then the world shut down and those stopped working.

I then made the choice to reach out to Patrick for help. And it was the best choice I ever made. Even starting with an at home program, I made strength and physique gains beyond what I ever thought I could on my own.

Before I knew it, Lyon Shred 1.0 was done and it was on to Lyon Shred 2.0. And the gym. It was terrifying walking through he doors the first day. After almost having a panic attack doing bench press, I powered my way through my workout with some help from staff and members and after just one workout I felt 10,000 times more comfortable.
